TREASURE QUEST DELIVERS THE GOODS FOR DISCOVERY CHANNEL ON THURSDAY NIGHT AND CONTINUES NETWORK MOMENTUM
Following Odyssey Marine Exploration's announcement of the possible discovery of the HMS Victory earlier this week in a global news conference, viewers set their sights on Discovery Channel last night. TREASURE QUEST's Return of the Legend ranked as the third highest ad-supported cable program in the 10p-11p time slot in terms of M25-54 and M18-49 delivery. It was also among the top five programs in delivery for P25-54 (#4).
Compared to the 1Q08 time slot average (Thu 10p-11p), the premiere of TREASURE QUEST: Return of the Legend posted double-digit delivery gains for P2+ (+58%, to 1506) and across most key demos -- P25-54 (+72% to 831), M25-54 (+87% to 599), P18-49 (+46% to 751), and M18-49 (+64% to 561).
Momentum through original content, Discovery Channel continues to be a favorite among viewers with year-to-date double-digit delivery gains versus year-ago for P2+ (+10% to 1257) and all 25-54 and 18-49 demos -- P25-54 (+12% to 643), M25-54 (+13% to 412), W25-54 (+12% to 231), P18-49 (+14% to 670), M18-49 (+14% to 435), and W18-49 (+14% to 235). With a mixture of series and specials across core genres, Discovery's high-quality original content is driving delivery gains six nights of the week in Prime for P2+, P25-54, and P18-49.
