CBS.COM LEADS ALL NETWORK WEB SITES IN UNIQUE VIEWERS
Posts Record-Setting Month in Unique Viewers, Streams, and Minutes; Number One Web site Among All Broadcast Networks
SAN FRANCISCO, March 24 - CBS.com today reported that it had 21 million unique viewers in February according to comScore Video Metrix, making CBS.com the most-viewed network Web site. Year-over-year increases to the site included a 576% increase in unique viewers, a 315% increase in streams and a 452% increase in total minutes streaming, as the site set new records across all video metrics.
CBS Interactive's leadership position among its network peers mirrors the success at CBS Television, which is the most-watched network in prime time, as well as the only broadcast network to increase its audience this season in all key ratings categories.
CBS.com's growth is driven in part by the success of its open, multi-partner syndication strategy, which includes more than 300 partner Web sites that stream CBS.com content through the CBS Audience Network. During the month of February, viewers also turned to CBS.com for its content around hit shows like THE AMAZING RACE, which features "Phil's Diary," a behind-the-scenes look at the show from host Phil Keoghan, as well as the popular interview with Joaquin Phoenix on LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN, which aired on Feb. 11 on the CBS Television Network. The interview was a huge online success, delivering more than 7.5 million clip views the week following the broadcast.
"We continue to see growth to CBS.com as a result of our strategy to bring our content to where the fans are through hundreds of CBS Audience Network partners," said Bill Binenstock, Vice President, CBS.com. "CBS.com also creates online content that complements the CBS Network television broadcasts, including games and contests around our most popular shows and events like the upcoming American Country Music Awards."
