CBS Has the Week's Top Eight Scripted Programs

CBS HAS THE WEEK'S TOP EIGHT SCRIPTED PROGRAMS

Season Finales of "NCIS" and "The Mentalist" Deliver More Than 16.5 Million Viewers Thursday Rebroadcast of "CSI" Tops All Original Scripted Programming on the Competition CBS Wins 13th Consecutive Sunday

CBS had the top eight scripted programs in a week that included the final three days of the television season, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending May 24, week 35 of the 2008-2009 television year.

In a week in which CBS placed second in viewers and key demographics, the Network saw its season finales of NCIS and THE MENTALIST deliver more than 16.5 million viewers and a Thursday rebroadcast of CSI (9.88m) notched more viewers than all original scripted programming on the competition.

In the just concluded season which officially ended on Wednesday, CBS was the only network to post year to year gains in all key measures: +12% in viewers, +8% in adults 25-54 and +7% in adults 18-49.

For the week in viewers: CBS (8.89m) FOX (10.19m) and ABC (7.29m) and NBC (4.44m). For the season, CBS was first in viewers (11.79m), ahead of FOX (9.83m), ABC (8.97m) and NBC (7.86m).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was second in adults 25-54 (2.8/08) and tied for second in adults 18-49 (2.1/07, with ABC). Compared to the same week last year, CBS was up +2% in households, +4% in both viewers and adults 25-54 and even in adults 18-49.

For the week in households, CBS (5.7/10) FOX (5.9/11) ABC (4.7/08) and NBC (3.0/05). In households, in the 2008-09 season, CBS is first (7.3/12), FOX (5.8/09), ABC (5.7/09) and NBC (4.8/08).

CBS Weekly Highlights:

? HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (5.4/09, 8.73m) with its season finale was second in households, adults 25-54 (4.2/11), adults 18-49 (3.7/10) and adults 18-34 (2.9/09).

? TWO AND A HALF MEN, with its season finale, was first in households (9.9/15), viewers (16.18m), adults 25-54 (6.6/16), adults 18-49 (5.3/14) and adults 18-34 (3.4/10). Compared to last week, TWO AND A HALF MEN was up +21% in households (from 8.2/12), +16% in adults 25-54 (from 5.7/13), +18% in adults 18-49 (from 4.5/12), +17% in adults 18-34 (from 2.9/09) and added +3.07m viewers (from 13.11m, +23%). TWO AND A HALF MEN was the night's #1 program in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.

? RULES OF ENGAGEMENT was first in households (7.9/12), viewers (12.87m), adults 25-54 (5.6/13) and adults 18-49 (4.4/11) with its season finale. Compared to last week, RULES OF ENGAGEMENT was up +25% in households (from 6.3/09), +19% in adults 25-54 (from 4.7/10), +22% in adults 18-49 (from 3.6/09) and added +2.73m viewers (from 10.14m, +27%).

? CSI: MIAMI, with its season finale, was first in households (8.9/15), viewers (14.20m), adults 25-54 (5.0/13) and adults 18-49 (3.8/10).

? NCIS was second in households (10.3/17), viewers (16.51m), adults 25-54 (4.6/12) and adults 18-49 (3.4/10). Compared to last week, NCIS was up +1% in households (from 10.2/17), +2% in adults 25-54 (from 4.5/12), +3% in adults 18-49 (from 3.3/10) and added +310,000 viewers (from 16.51m, +2%).

? THE MENTALIST (9:00-10:01 PM) was second in households (10.4/16), viewers (16.82m) and adults 25-54 (5.2/12). Compared to last week, THE MENTALIST was up +3% in households (from 10.1/15), +8% in adults 25-54 (from 4.8/11), +12% in adults 18-49 (3.7/10 from 3.3/08) and added +610,000 viewers (from 16.21m, +4%).

? CRIMINAL MINDS (9:00-11:00 PM) was first in households (8.7/14), viewers (13.99m), adults 25-54 (4.7/11) and adults 18-49 (3.5/09) from 9:00-11:00PM. Compared to last week, CRIMINAL MINDS was up +4% in both households (from 8.4/13) and adults 25-54 (from 4.5/10), +3% in adults 18-49 (from 3.4/09) and added +620,000 viewers (from 13.37m, +5%).

? CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION (R) was first in households (6.5/11), viewers (9.88m), second in adults 25-54 (2.7/07).

? FLASHPOINT 10:00 PM THURSDAY SPECIAL (R) (S) (10:01-11:00PM) was first in households (4.9/09), viewers (7.37m), second in adults 25-54 (2.4/07) and adults 18-49 (1.7/05).

? GHOST WHISPERER (R) was first in households (3.9/08), viewers (5.91m), adults 25-54 (1.7/06) and adults 18-49 (1.2/05). GHOST WHISPERER won its time slot for the 27th time this season in households and viewers, 26th time in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.

? FLASHPOINT (R) was first in households (4.1/08), viewers (6.50m), adults 25-54 (1.6/05) and adults 18-49 (1.2/04). FLASHPOINT finished first in its time period in households and viewers for 17th of 18 broadcasts, was first in adults 25-54 for the 16th time in 18 broadcasts and first in adults 18-49 for the 13th time in 18 airings.

? NUMB3RS (R) was first in households (4.1/08), viewers (6.39m), tied for first in adults 25-54 (1.7/05, with both ABC and NBC) and tied for second in adults 18-49 (1.2/04, with NBC, -0.1 behind ABC). NUMB3RS won its time slot for the 26th time this television year in households, 27th time in viewers, was first for the 23rd time in adults 25-54.

? 60 MINUTES (R) was first in households (5.3/11), viewers (8.14m) and tied for first in adults 25-54 (1.5/06, with ABC).

? COLD CASE (R) was first in households (4.6/08), viewers (7.01m), adults 25-54 (2.0/06) and adults 18-49 (1.5/05).
