Continuing to grow during the week of August 31, 2009, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" posted its 2nd consecutive week of gains, building on the prior week by 4% in Total Viewers (1.45 million vs. 1.39 million) and 10% in Adults 18-49 (603,000 vs. 550,000). In fact on both counts, "JKL" turned in its strongest performance in 7 weeks � since week of 7/13/09.
� For the 2nd week in a row, "JKL" drew a larger audience than NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.45 million vs. 1.44 million). Additionally, "Kimmel" outdelivered CBS' "Ferguson" for the week among young Adults, outpacing its CBS competitor by 12% in Adults 18-49 (603,000 vs. 539,000) and by 14% in Adults 18-34 (222,000 vs. 194,000).

"NIGHTLINE" PLACES FIRST FOR THE WEEK IN TOTAL VIEWERS AND A25-54
"NIGHTLINE" GROWS +21% AMONG TOTAL VIEWERS
AND 10% AMONG A25-54 YEAR TO YEAR
"NIGHTLINE" INCREASES +19% IN TOTAL VIEWERS THIRD QUARTER TO DATE, WHILE "TONIGHT SHOW" DECLINES -39%
ABC News' "Nightline" was #1 among Total Viewers, outperforming NBC's "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" and CBS' "Late Show with David Letterman" for the week of August 31, 2009 according to Nielsen Media Research. This marks the 11th consecutive week "Nightline" beat "Tonight." The last time "Nightline" beat "Tonight" 11 consecutive weeks was in 1995.
Among Adults 25-54, "Nightline" posted 1,520,000, placing first for the week to "Conan's" 1,519,000. The two programs tied in the A25-54 rating with a 1.2. Among Adults 18-49, "Nightline" outperformed "Letterman" for second place.
"Nightline" continues to experience growth season to date, quarter to date, week to week and year to year. For the 35th consecutive week, "Nightline" grew among Total Viewers year to year. Averaging 3.70 million, the program grew +21% versus the same week last year. Among Adults 25-54, "Nightline" grew +10% compared to the same week last year. Week to week, "Nightline" grew +5% among Total Viewers and +11% among Adults 25-54.
Quarter to date, "Nightline" is in first place among Total Viewers with 3.54 million, a growth of +19% vs. 2008 quarter to date, while "Tonight" has declined -39% in Total Viewers, -22% among A25-54 and -10% among A18-49. Season to date, "Nightline" is solidly in second place with 3.76 million Total Viewers and 1.62 million Adults 25-54. The program is up +14% in Total Viewers, +3% in A 25-54 and +5% in A18-49.
ABC News' "Nightline" is anchored by Cynthia McFadden, Terry Moran and Martin Bashir. John Donvan and Vicki Mabrey are correspondents. James Goldston is the executive producer. The program airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m., ET on the ABC Television Network.
