NBC PRIMETIME RESULTS FOR THE WEEK OF JAN. 25-31

AGAINST HEAVYWEIGHT COMPETITION, 'BIGGEST LOSER' GAINS 57 PERCENT IN 18-49 AND 46 PERCENT IN TOTAL VIEWERS FROM ITS FIRST HALF-HOUR TO ITS FOURTH, TO RANK #1 IN ITS FINAL HOUR IN ADULTS 18-49 AND OTHER KEY MEASURES

AN ENCORE TELECAST OF 'PARKS AND RECREATION' DELIVERS THAT SHOW'S TOP RESULTS TO DATE FOR A REBROADCAST, WHILE A '30 ROCK' ENCORE SCORES ITS BEST RESULTS FOR A REBROADCAST IN THE PAST YEAR

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - February 2, 2010 - Led this week by another strong performance from "The Biggest Loser," NBC averaged a 1.6 rating, 4 share in 18-49 and 5.1 million viewers overall for the week of January 25-31, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

NBC's Tuesday telecast of "The Biggest Loser: Couples" ranked #8 (tied) among all primetime programs last week in the key demographic of adults 18-49, despite competing with the Tuesday edition of "American Idol." Also ranking among the top 20 programs of the week in adults 18-49 was NBC's Monday telecast of "Chuck," which ranked #19 (tied).

Primetime averages for the week of January 25-31 in adults 18-49 were Fox (3.5/10), CBS (3.3/9), ABC (1.9/5), NBC (1.6/4) and CW (0.8/2). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (12.0 million), Fox (9.7 million), ABC (6.3 million), NBC (5.1 million) and CW (1.9 million).

NBC highlights for the week of January 25-31:

* On Tuesday, "The Biggest Loser: Couples" " ranked #2 in its highly competitive two-hour time period among adults and women 18-34 and women 18-49, behind only Fox's "American Idol"-boosted line-up.

* From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Biggest Loser" increased by 57 percent in adults 18-49 and by 46 percent or more than 3.7 million persons in total viewers. For its second hour from 9-10 p.m. ET, "The Biggest Loser" ranked #1 in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and numerous other key demos.

* Also on Tuesday, "The Jay Leno Show" finished within a tenth of a rating point of first place in the hour among the major networks in adults 18-49 and was #1 in adults and men 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54.

* On Thursday, an encore telecast of "The Office" ranked #2 in the time period in adults 18-49 and other key demos, topping rebroadcasts of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and CBS's "CSI."

* Also on Thursday, a "30 Rock" rebroadcast scored that show's top results for an encore telecast in the past year (since January 2009).

* Additionally on Thursday, an encore telecast of "Parks and Recreation" delivered that show's highest 18-49 and total-viewer results to date for a rebroadcast, while an encore telecast of "Community" topped CBS's original "Live for the Moment" in adults 18-49 and finished one tenth of a rating point behind ABC's first-run "Deep End."

* On Friday, an encore telecast of "Law and Order" ranked #2 in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures topping original programming on the other major networks

* Also on Friday, "The Jay Leno Show" finished within one share of the time-period lead in adults 18-49 and ranked #1 among the major networks in adults 18-34 versus first-run competition on ABC and CBS.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of January 25-31:

On Monday, January 25 from 8-9 p.m. ET, "Chuck" (2.5 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49, 7.0 million viewers overall) matched its 18-49 rating of the prior week while gaining 5 percent in total viewers (7.0 million vs. 6.7 million). "Chuck" ranked #2 in all key adult-male demos - men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 - in a time period that included competition from Fox's "House," ABC's "The Bachelor" and CBS's encore comedies. Compared to NBC's average in the time period last season, "Chuck" was up 14 percent in 18-49 rating (2.5 vs. 2.2, live plus same day).

From its first half-hour to its second, "Chuck" increased by 13 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 2.7 from a 2.4), by 19 percent in men 18-49 (3.1 vs. 2.6), by 22 percent in adults 18-34 (2.2 vs. 1.8) and by 29 percent in men 18-34 (2.7 vs. 2.1)

Monday from 9-10:01 p.m. ET, "Heroes" averaged a 1.9/5 in 18-49 and 4.3 million viewers overall in a time period that included competition from ABC's "The Bachelor," Fox's 24" and CBS's comedy encores. Week-to-week, "Heroes" was up 6 percent in 18-49 rating (1.9 vs. 1.8) and 8 percent in total viewers (4.3 million vs. 4.0 million). "Heroes" is one of the most time-shifted programs on network television. So far this season, "Heroes" has added 29 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from its "live plus same day" to its "live plus seven day" results. In total viewers, "Heroes" adds 1.2 million viewers to its previously reported "live plus same day" results when "live plus seven day" ratings are released.

Monday from 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "The Jay Leno Show" averaged a 1.2/3 in adults 18-49, a 1.5/4 in adults 25-54 and 4.3 million viewers overall. Monday's time-period competition included ABC's "Castle" and CBS's CSI: Miami" encore.

Comparisons with Jay Leno's 2008-09 average at 11:35 p.m. ET on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" are: in adults 18-49 (1.2 vs. 1.4), adults 25-54 (1.5 vs. 1.8) and total viewers (4.3 million vs. 5.1 million). Comparisons to NBC's Monday-through-Friday 10-11 p.m. ET non-sports average over the prior 52 weeks were: in adults 18-49 (1.2 vs. 2.2), adults 25-54 (1.5 vs. 2.7) and total viewers (4.3 million vs. 6.9 million).

On Tuesday, January 26 from 8-10:01 p.m. ET, "The Biggest Loser: Couples" (3.8/10 in adults 18-49, 9.7 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in its highly competitive time period in adults 18-34, women 18-34 and women 18-49 behind only Fox's "American Idol"-boosted line-up.

From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Loser" increased by 57 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 4.7/12 from a 3.0/8) and by 46 percent or more than 3.7 million persons in total viewers (11.8 million vs. 8.1 million).

For its second hour from 9-10 p.m. ET, "The Biggest Loser" ranked #1 in adults 18-49, adults, men and women 18-34, women 18-49 and women 25-54, topping CBS's "NCIS: LA," Fox's "Human Target" and ABC's "Lost" encore in those demographics.

Tuesday from 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "The Jay Leno Show" averaged a 1.9/6 in adults 18-49, a 2.4/6 in adults 25-54 and 6.2 million viewers overall. Tuesday's time-period competition included CBS's "The Good Wife" encore and ABC's rebroadcast of "Lost."

In the time period, the "Leno Show" finished within a tenth of a rating point of #1 in the hour among the major networks in adults 18-49 and was #1 in adults and men 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54. "The Jay Leno Show" matched its second-highest 18-49 rating for any day of the week since December 8 and attracted its highest total viewership for any day of the week since January 5.

Comparisons with Jay Leno's 2008-09 average at 11:35 p.m. ET on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" are: in adults 18-49 (1.9 vs. 1.4), adults 25-54 (2.4 vs. 1.8) and total viewers (6.2 million vs. 5.1 million). Comparisons to NBC's Monday-through-Friday 10-11 p.m. ET non-sports average over the prior 52 weeks were: in adults 18-49 (1.9 vs. 2.2), adults 25-54 (2.4 vs. 2.7) and total viewers (6.2 million vs. 6.9 million).

On Wednesday, January 27 from 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Mercy" averaged a 0.9/3 in adults 18-49 and 3.6 million viewers overall.

From 10:21-10:30 p.m. ET, NBC News' analysis of the State of the Union address averaged a 2.2/6 in adults 18-49 and 8.3 million viewers overall. From 10:44-11 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "The Office" delivered a 1.1/3 in 18-49 and 3.4 million viewers overall.

NBC News' coverage of the State of the Union address and the Republican response was sustaining programming and is not included in the nightly or weekly averages.

On Thursday, January 28 from 8-8:30 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Community" (1.6/5 in adults 18-49, 4.2 million viewers overall) ranked #2 among the major networks in the time period among men 18-49 and men 18-34. In adults 18-49, the "Community" rebroadcast topped CBS's original "Live for the Moment" and finished one tenth of a rating point behind ABC's first-run "Deep End."

From 8:30-9 p.m., a rebroadcast of "Parks and Recreation" (1.6/4 in 18-49, 3.7 million viewers overall) delivered that show's highest 18-49 and total-viewer results to date for an encore telecast. "Parks" retained 100 percent of its 18-49 lead-in from "Community" and ranked #2 or tied for #2 among the major networks in the half-hour in men 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54.

Thursday from 9-9:31 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "The Office" (2.1/6 in 18-49, 4.6 million viewers overall) ranked #2 among the major networks in the time slot in adults and men 18-49, and adults and men 18-34, topping encore telecasts of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and CBS's "CSI." Among women 18-34, "The Office" encore tied for #1 among the major networks.

From 9:31-10:01 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "30 Rock" (1.7/5 in 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall) tied for #1 among the major networks in the half-hour in women 18-34 and was #2 in adults and women 18-34. This was the top performance for a "30 Rock" encore in a year (since January 29, 2009) in both 18-49 rating and total viewers

Thursday from 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "The Jay Leno Show" averaged a 1.2/3 in adults 18-49, a 1.4/4 in adults 25-54 and 4.3 million viewers overall. Thursday's time-period competition included CBS's rebroadcast of "The Mentalist" and ABC's "Private Practice" encore. "The Jay Leno Show" was #2 or tied for #2 among the major networks in the hour in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demos - men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

Comparisons to Jay Leno's 2008-09 average at 11:35 p.m. ET on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" were: in adults 18-49 (1.2 vs. 1.4), adults 25-54 (1.4 vs. 1.8) and total viewers (4.3 million vs. 5.1 million). Comparisons to NBC's Monday-through-Friday 10-11 p.m. ET non-sports average over the prior 52 weeks were: in adults 18-49 (1.2 vs. 2.2), adults 25-54 (1.4 vs. 2.7) and total viewers (4.3 million vs. 6.9 million).

On Friday, January 29 at 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law and Order" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 6.8 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in the time period in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures, topping original programming on ABC, Fox and the CW.

Friday from 9-10:01 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.5/4 in adults 18-49, 7.4 million viewers overall) tied for #2 in the time slot in adults 18-49 and ranked #2 outright among the major networks in total viewers, adults 25-54 and other key measures.

Friday from 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "The Jay Leno Show" averaged a 1.4/4 in adults 18-49, a 1.7/5 in adults 25-54 and 4.8 million viewers overall. Friday's time-period competition included ABC's "20/20" and CBS's "Numb3rs." "The Jay Leno Show" finished within one share of the time-period lead in adults 18-49 and ranked #1 among the major networks in adults 18-34.

"The Jay Leno Show" matched its top Friday rating in adults 18-49 in 17 weeks (since September 25).

Comparisons to Jay Leno's 2008-09 average at 11:35 p.m. ET on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" were: in adults 18-49 (1.4 vs. 1.4), in adults 25-54 (1.7 vs. 1.8) and total viewers (4.8 million vs. 5.1 million). Comparisons to NBC's Monday-through-Friday 10-11 p.m. ET non-sports average over the prior 52 weeks were: in adults 18-49 (1.4 vs. 2.2), adults 25-54 (1.7 vs. 2.7) and total viewers (4.8 million vs. 6.9 million).

On Saturday, January 30 from 8-9 p.m. ET, the NBC Sports special "Truth in Motion: The U.S. Ski Team's Road to Vancouver" averaged a 0.4/1 in 18-49 and 1.8 million viewers overall.

Saturday at 9 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "Law and Order" (0.8/2 in 18-49, 3.8 million viewers overall) increased from its first half-hour to its second by 29 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 0.9 from a 0.7) and by 22 percent in total viewers (4.2 million vs. 3.4 million).

Saturday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 5.1 million viewers overall) tied for #1 among the major networks in the slot in adults and women 18-34 and men 18-49. "SVU" built on its lead-in from the previous hour by 50 percent in adults 18-49 and by 35 percent or 1.3 million persons in total viewers

On Sunday, January 31, from 7-9 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" reported a 0.9/2 in 18-49 and 4.8 million viewers overall. Week-to-week, the Sunday edition of "Dateline" was up by 29 percent in 18-49 rating (0.9 vs. 0.7) and by 20 percent in total viewers (to 4.8 million from 4.0 million).

Sunday from 9-11 p.m. ET, the special "SNL Presents: Sports All-Stars" (1.2/3 in adults 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall) increased from its first half-hour to its fourth by 20 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.2 from a 1.0) opposite the Grammy Awards telecast. .
