FOX Delivers Best Performance by a Broadcast Net

FOX DELIVERS BEST PERFORMANCE BY A BROADCAST NET

Three outstanding nights of AMERICAN IDOL propelled FOX to No. 1 for the week among Adults 18-49. Despite tough competition including ABC's season finale of The Bachelor and The 82nd Annual Academy Awards, FOX delivered a 4.1/11 for the week and outperformed its next highest-rated competitor by +8%. Season to date, FOX continues to rank No. 1 among the broadcast networks this season.

On Tuesday, the Top 10 boys competed on AMERICAN IDOL and posted an 8.6/22 among Adults 18-49, leading FOX to a nightly win among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Teens and all key demos.

FOX showed a significant advantage over the No. 2 network of the night, dominating by +161% among Adults 18-49, +196% among Adults 18-34, +281% among Teens and +48% in Total Viewers.

AMERICAN IDOL retained 95% of the audience of the equivalent episode last year (2/25/09) among Adults 18-49, 97% among Adults 18-34 and 96% in Total Viewers.

Compared to the previous week's Tuesday performance show, AMERICAN IDOL held 96% of its audience among Adults 18-49, 93% among Adults 18-34 and 97% in Total Viewers.

On Wednesday, the Top 10 girls competed on AMERICAN IDOL, posting an 8.5/23 among Adults 18-49 and leading FOX to another nightly win among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Adults 25-54, Teens and all key demos.

FOX held a tremendous advantage over the next highest-rated network of the night, dominating by +215% among Adults 18-49, +300% among Adults 18-34, +342% among Teens and +129% among Total Viewers.

In fact, AMERICAN IDOL outperformed the combined 4-net competition for the night by +16% among Adults 18-49, +33% among Adults 18-34 and +83% in Teens.

AMERICAN IDOL retained 93% of the audience of the comparable performance telecast last year on Wednesday 2/25/09 among Adults 18-49, 99% among Adults 18-34, +96% among Teens and 96% in Total Viewers.

Compared to the previous week's Wednesday telecast, AMERICAN IDOL held 98% of its audience among Adults 18-49, 97% among Adults 18-34 and 96% among Teens. AMERICAN IDOL grew by +3% among Total Viewers.

On Thursday, FOX won the night again as strong performances from AMERICAN IDOL and KITCHEN NIGHTMARES combined to match the network's highest rated Thursday night of the season among Adults 18-49 (excluding sports) and post FOX's highest Total Viewers (excluding sports) on a Thursday in nearly a year.

Thursday's AMERICAN IDOL results show posted a 6.5/19 among Adults 18-49 and dominated the 8p hour with an advantage of +71% over its closest competitor among Adults 18-49, +93% among Adults 18-34, +64% among Teens and +53% among Total Viewers. FOX won the hour among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Teens and all key demos.

Compared to the previous week's Thursday telecast, AMERICAN IDOL held 100% of its audience among Adults 18-49 and was up +8% among Total Viewers.

In the 9p hour KITCHEN NIGHTMARES delivered a 3.3/9 among Adults 18-49 and posted its second highest number of Total Viewers ever, gaining +7% over the previous week's total.
