Nickelodeon's Victorious Bows Big with 5.7 Million Total Viewers
NEW YORK-March 29, 2010-Nickelodeon's 23rd Annual Kids' Choice Awards (KCAs) hosted by Kevin James slimed its way to stand as the second biggest KCAs ever in the show's 23-year history, averaging 7.6 million total viewers (P2+) on Saturday, March 27, (8-9:30 p.m. ET/PT). With kids, the live telecast scored 10.5/3.7 million K2-11.
The star-studded telecast scored the most votes in the show's history�a record 118 million (+130%, over last year) votes were cast from Feb. 25 - March 27. Nick.com celebrated its highest trafficked day ever on March 27, driven by 38.4 million page views (+3%). The KCA site also garnered 2.2 million visits and 1.9 million unique visitors. The KCA live webcams also generated 1.5 million streams, up +240% over last year.
Nickelodeon's 23rd Annual Kids' Choice Awards featured First Lady Michelle Obama-who received the first-ever Big Help Award, presented by Miranda Cosgrove (iCarly) and Keke Palmer (True Jackson, VP); slimings for Tina Fey (30 Rock) and Steve Carell (The Office), and singer/songwriter Katy Perry. Also included were of Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire ,The Last Airbender); Cory Monteith (Glee); Jackson Rathbone (The Twilight Saga, Last Airbender); Lea Michele (Glee); Nicola Peltz (The Last Airbender); the cast of Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush; Lily Collins (The Blind Side); Winter Olympic gold medalists Apolo Ohno and Shaun White; Victoria Justice (Victorious); and George Lopez. The show also showcased musical performances by Rihanna and Justin Bieber.
This year's Kids' Choice Awards was followed by the debut of Victorious (Saturday, March 27, 9:30 p.m. [ET/PT]), which now ranks as the second biggest live-action series premiere in Nickelodeon's history (behind only Big Time Rush [Jan. 18, 8:30 p.m. ET/PT]), drawing 5.7 million total viewers (P2+). Starring Victoria Justice, the telecast also averaged 7.6/2.7 million K2-11 and held up to 76% of Nickelodeon's 23rd Annual Kids' Choice Awards audience across key demos.
