Nickelodeon's Icarly Scores Basic Cable's Number-One Entertainment Telecast for the Week

NICKELODEON'S ICARLY SCORES BASIC CABLE'S NUMBER-ONE ENTERTAINMENT TELECAST FOR THE WEEK WITH 4.9 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS

iCarly, Victorious and True Jackson, VP Rank As Week's Top Three Shows With Tweens On All TV

NEW YORK - May 4, 2010 - Driven by another stellar performance from iCarly, which scored basic cable's top entertainment telecast among total viewers for the week (4/26/10-5/2/10), Nickelodeon notched another weekly ratings win. Nick scored a clean sweep as basic cable's number-one network with kids 2-11, kids 6-11, tweens and total viewers, and drew the week's top ten kid-targeted telecasts. For the week, Nickelodeon averaged 2.2 million persons 2+, a 3.3/1.2 million K2-11, 2.6/570,000 K6-11 and 2.0/431,000 T9-14.

iCarly - which year to date ranks as the number-one live-action show with kids 2-11 - drew 4.9 million total viewers (+44%) with the new episode, "iWon't Cancel the Show" (Saturday, May 1, 8 p.m., ET/PT). The half-hour episode averaged 9.7/2.0 million kids 6-11 (+47%), 8.5/1.8 million tweens 9-14 (+89%) and 7.0/2.5 million kids 2-11 (+25%).

Additionally, Nick's newest hit series, Victorious, had another strong night, securing basic cable's top spot in its Sunday night time period (8 p.m. ET/PT) with total viewers (3.3 million). The episode, "Jade Dumps Beck," (May 2) averaged 6.5/1.4 million kids 6-11, 6.4/1.4 million tweens 9-14 and 4.9/1.8 million kids 2-11.

The leading ladies of Nickelodeon also scored the top three telecasts with tweens 9-14 for the week, with iCarly taking the top spot followed by Victorious and True Jackson, VP.

Nick's weekly ratings performance also was highlighted by animated hits SpongeBob SquarePants, The Penguins of Madagascar and Fanboy and Chum Chum, which were the top three animated series, respectively, for the week on broadcast and basic cable with kids 2-11 and kids 6-11. SpongeBob SquarePants and The Penguins of Madagascar were also basic cable's top two animated series with total viewers for the week.
