CBS Sweeps 10:00 PM Time Period for Second Consecutive Night
CBS won the first Tuesday of the new season in viewers and adults 25-54 behind the time period-winning season premiere of NCIS and the season premiere of NCIS: LOS ANGELES followed by a special 10:00 PM broadcast of the sophomore drama, which placed first in all key measures, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Sept. 21.
At 8:00 PM, NCIS (P) was first in households (11.5/18), viewers (18.92m) and adults 25-54 (5.6/14) and second in adults 18-49 (3.9/11). Compared to last May's season finale, NCIS was up +15% in households (from 10.0/16), +22% in adults 25-54 (from 4.6/12), +18% in adults 18-49 (from 3.3/10) and added +2.61m viewers (from 16.31m, +16%).
At 9:00 PM, NCIS: LOS ANGELES (P) was second in households (9.6/15), viewers (15.68m), adults 25-54 (4.7/11) and adults 18-49 (3.4/09). Compared to last May's season finale, NCIS: LOS ANGELES was up +16% in households (from 8.3/13), +24% in adults 25-54 (from 3.8/09), +26% in adults 18-49 (from 2.7/07) and added +2.45m viewers (from 13.23m, +19%).
At 10:00 PM, a special NCIS: LOS ANGELES (S) was first in households (8.5/14), viewers (13.60m), adults 25-54 (4.1/11) and adults 18-49 (3.0/08). CBS has now swept the 10:00-11:00 PM time slot in viewers and key demos for the second consecutive night.
For the night, CBS was first in households (9.9/16), viewers (16.07m), adults 25-54 (4.8/12) and second in adults 18-49 (3.4/09).

At 9:00 PM, NCIS: LOS ANGELES (P) was second in households (9.7/15), viewers (15.75m), adults 25-54 (4.8/11) and adults 18-49 (3.4/09). Compared to last May's season finale, NCIS: LOS ANGELES was up +17% in households (from 8.3/13), +26% in both adults 25-54 (from 3.8/09) and adults 18-49 (from 2.7/07) and added +2.52m viewers (from 13.23m, +19%).
At 10:00 PM, a special NCIS: LOS ANGELES (S) was first in households (8.5/15), viewers (13.60m), adults 25-54 (4.1/11) and adults 18-49 (3.0/09). CBS has now swept the 10:00-11:00 PM time slot in viewers and key demos for the second consecutive night.
For the night, CBS was first in households (10.0/16), viewers (16.25m), adults 25-54 (4.9/12) and second in adults 18-49 (3.5/10). This was CBS's third consecutive premiere week Tuesday win in both households and viewers and second straight premiere week Tuesday win in adults 25-54.
