Back-to-Back Wins Mark the First Time CBS Has Won the First Two Weeks of the Season in Viewers and Demos Since the Advent of People Meters in 1987

For the Second Straight Week, CBS Posts Year-to-Year Growth in Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54

CBS placed first in viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 for the second consecutive week of the new season, marking the first time the Network has won back-to-back weeks in all measures to start a season since the advent of people meters in 1987, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Oct. 3, week two of the 2010-2011 television season.

And, for the second straight week, CBS posted year growth in all key measures: up +5% in both viewers (11.85m from 11.34m) and adults 25-54 (4.0/11 from 3.8/10), +7% in adults 18-49 (3.1/09 from 2.9/08) and +17% in adults 18-34 (2.1/07 from 1.8/06) versus the same week last year.

CBS continues to have the season's top five new series in viewers (HAWAII FIVE-0, BLUE BLOODS, MIKE & MOLLY, $#*! MY DAD SAYS and THE DEFENDERS) and the top three new series in adults 18-49 (HAWAII FIVE-0, MIKE & MOLLY and $#*! MY DAD SAYS).

CBS had five of the top 10 programs of the week: NCIS (#3); NCIS: LOS ANGELES (#5); THE MENTALIST (#7); CRIMINAL MINDS (#8) and TWO AND A HALF MEN (#9). For the season, CBS has the top eight scripted programs: NCIS; NCIS: LOS ANGELES; THE MENTALIST; CRIMINAL MINDS; TWO AND A HALF MEN; CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION; THE BIG BANG THEORY and HAWAII FIVE-0.

For the week in viewers, CBS (11.85m) is ahead of ABC (9.16m), NBC (8.13m) and FOX (7.02m).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (4.0/11) and adults 18-49 (3.1/09). CBS won its second consecutive week in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49. Compared to the same week last year, CBS was up +5% in both viewers and adults 25-54, and +7% in adults 18-49. CBS was the only broadcast network to post gains in adults 18-49.

For the week in households: CBS (7.2/12), ABC (5.8/10), NBC (5.1/09) and FOX (4.2/07).

? HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (5.3/08, 9.00m) was first in adults 18-34 (3.9/12) and second in both adults 25-54 (4.2/11) and adults 18-49 (3.9/11). Compared to last week's season premiere, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was up +5% in adults 25-54 (from 4.0/10), +8% in adults 18-49 (from 3.6/10), +11% in adults 18-34 (from 3.5/11), even in households and added +210,000 viewers (from 8.79m, +2%).

? TWO AND A HALF MEN was second in households (8.5/13), viewers (13.92m), adults 25-54 (5.8/13) and adults 18-49 (4.8/12). TWO AND A HALF MEN was the night's #1 scripted program in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.

? MIKE AND MOLLY was second in households (6.9/10), viewers (11.12m), adults 25-54 (4.7/10) and adults 18-49 (3.7/09).

? HAWAII FIVE-0 was first in households (8.1/13), viewers (12.72m), adults 25-54 (4.7/12) and adults 18-49 (3.6/10) for the second consecutive week.

-- Tuesday, CBS was first in households (9.9/16), viewers (16.03m), adults 25-54 (4.6/12) and second in adults 18-49 (3.4/09). This was CBS's second consecutive Tuesday win in households, viewers and adults 25-54.

? NCIS was first in households (11.5/18) and viewers (19.15m) and second in adults 25-54 (5.4/14) and adults 18-49 (4.1/12). Compared to last week's season premiere, NCIS was up +2% in adults 18-49 (4.0/12).

? NCIS: LOS ANGELES was second in households (10.0/16), viewers (16.51m), adults 25-54 (5.0/12, -0.2 behind ABC) and adults 18-49 (3.7/10, -0.1 behind ABC). Compared to last week's season premiere, NCIS: LOS ANGELES was up +3% in households (from 9.7/15), +4% in adults 25-54 (from 4.8/11), +9% in adults 18-49 (from 3.4/09) and added +750,000 viewers (from 15.76m, +5%).

? THE GOOD WIFE (P) was first in households (8.3/14), viewers (12.84m), adults 25-54 (3.6/10) and adults 18-49 (2.5/07). Compared to the season finale in May 2010, THE GOOD WIFE was up +19% in households (from 7.0/12), +20% in adults 25-54 (from 3.0/08), +25% in adults 18-49 (from 2.0/06) and added +2.23m viewers (from 10.61m, +21%).

-- On Wednesday, CBS was first in households (7.5/13), viewers (12.41m), adults 25-54 (4.3/12) and adults 18-49 (3.2/10).

? SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA was first in households (7.1/12), viewers (12.26m), adults 25-54 (4.7/13) and adults 18-49 (3.5/11). CBS swept this time slot for the third consecutive week.

? CRIMINAL MINDS was first in households (8.9/14), viewers (14.57m) and adults 25-54 (4.8/12); it was second in adults 18-49 (3.6/10, -0.1 behind ABC). CRIMINAL MINDS was Wednesday's #1 program in viewers.

-- On Thursday, CBS was first in households (8.2/14), viewers (13.27m), adults 25-54 (4.3/12) and adults 18-49 (3.3/10). CBS won the first two Thursdays of the season in these measures for the first time since 2007.

? THE BIG BANG THEORY was first in households (7.6/13), viewers (13.06m), adults 25-54 (5.4/16), adults 18-49 (4.4/14) and adults 18-34 (3.1/11) for the second week this season.

? $#*! MY DAD SAYS was first in households (6.3/11), viewers (10.43m), adults 25-54 (4.2/11) and adults 18-49 (3.3/10) for the second consecutive week.

? CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION was first in households (8.3/13) and viewers (13.41m), and second in adults 25-54 (4.1/10), posting a 3.1/08 in adults 18-49.

? HOME DEPOT PRIME COLLEGE FOOTBALL scored a 5.0/10 in households with 8.60m viewers, 3.2/10 in adults 25-54, 2.9/10 in adults 18-49, 2.6/11 in adults 18-34, 4.2/13 in men 25-54, 3.8/13 in men 18-49 and 3.3/13 in men 18-34 from 8:00-11:16 PM.

UNDERCOVER BOSS was up +10% in households (7.7/12 from 7.0/12), +9% in adults 25-54 (5.1/11 from 4.7/12), +5% in adults 18-49 (4.0/10 from 3.8/10) and added +1.87m viewers (13.41m from 11.54m, +16%) versus its premiere. Compared to the same night last year ("Three Rivers" (P)), UNDERCOVER BOSS was up +38% in households, +96% in adults 25-54 and +111% in adults 18-49.

? CSI: MIAMI (P) was second in households (7.3/12), viewers (11.75m), adults 25-54 (4.0/10) and adults 18-49 (3.2/08). Compared to last year's time period premiere ("Cold Case" at 10:14PM on 9/27/09), CSI: MIAMI was up +20% in households (from 6.1/11), +48% in adults 25-54 (from 2.7/07), +52% in adults 18-49 (from 2.1/06) and added +2.55m viewers (from 9.20m, +28%).
