OXYGEN MEDIA SCORES ITS BEST OCTOBER EVER
Network Up 55% in Key W18-34 Demo and Pacing for Its Third Consecutive Best Year Ever Under NBCU
New York, November 2, 2010 - Oxygen Media marked its best October ever with double digit increases across all key demos including A18-34 (up +59%), W18-34 (up +55%), A18-49 (up +28%), W18-49 (up +31%), and total viewers (up +14%) compared to October 2009, according to Nielsen Media Research. Oxygen also boasted a median age of 36.7 years in October, shaving off 8.2 years versus last year (10/09). Year-to-date, 2010 is pacing to be Oxygen's best year ever - its third consecutive under the NBCU banner.
Year-to-date, Oxygen now ranks #21 among the network's key demo of W18-34 (up from #23 last year), and ranks #22 among W18-49, (up from #23 last year).
Driving Oxygen's success this October was the highly rated season of "Bad Girls Club Miami," and newest competition series "Hair Battle Spectacular." Season five of "Bad Girls Club" continues to out-deliver The CW in the 9pm hour on Tuesdays among W18-34, A18-34, A18-49 and W18-49. Season to date (8/3/10-10/25/10), "Bad Girls Club" averages 1,683,000 total viewers, 1,118,000 (A18-49), 824,000 (W18-49), 615,000 (W18-34), 811,000 (A18-34). And "Hair Battle Spectacular" became Oxygen's most watched freshman series in history averaging 1,063,000 total viewers, 358,000 (W18-34), 430,000 (A18-34), 669,000 (A18-49), and 531,000 (W18-49).
