ABC's Wednesday Comedy Block Makes Big Gains November-to-November

ABC stands as the No. 2 network in November 2010 among Total Viewers (9.6 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.7/8), pacing within 2-tenths of a rating point of tying CBS (2.9/8) for No. 1 on the latter measure. In fact ABC and CBS are currently tied for the sweep in Adult 18-49 audience share. The Net ranks No. 1 for the sweep across all key Women demographics: W18-34 (2.8/9), W18-49 (3.5/10) and W25-54 (4.3/11-tie). In fact excluding sports to level the playing field for the boosts that the other nets gain from professional sports coverage (NFL games and overruns/World Series), ABC (2.9/8) ranks a definitive No. 1 for the 2010 November Sweep in Adults 18-49, outdelivering No. 2 CBS by 7% (2.7/8), No. 3 Fox by 32% (2.2/6) and No. 4 NBC by 61% (1.8/5).

· Highest-Rated TV Series: ABC claims 4 of the Top 10 TV series during November 2010 in Adults 18-49, more than any other net, including the No. 1 scripted program ("Modern Family"), the No. 1 drama ("Grey's Anatomy") and the No. 1 unscripted series ("DWTS"): "Modern Family" - No. 2, "Grey's Anatomy" - No. 5, "Desperate Housewives" - No. 8 and "DWTS" - No. 10. ABC's "DWTS" is poised to finish as the most-watched show overall for the month, while "DWTS: The Results" ranks a strong No. 4. In addition, ABC delivers 5 of the Top 6 TV series of the sweep with Women 18-49.

· Growing Wednesday Night Comedy Block: During November, ABC's Wednesday 8:00-10:00 p.m. comedy block is up by wide margins across the board over last year: Total Viewers +22%, AD18-34 +23%, AD18-49 +22%, Teens 12-17 +25% and Kids 2-11 +38%.

· Biggest Individual Telecasts: The Network claims 6 of the Top 10 highest-rated entertainment telecasts for November in Adults 18-49. Additionally, the Net has 3 of the Top 5 most-watched telecasts overall for the month, including the Top 3 entertainment broadcasts.

· Year to Year ABC Series Gainers in November: In Total Viewers and /or Adults 18-49, a number of the ABC series experienced year-to-year growth in November: "DWTS" (+13%/+11%), "Castle" (+7%/+8%), "DWTS: The Results Show" (+8%/even), "The Middle" (+42%/+27%) and "Modern Family" (+36%/+33%).
