NEW YORK - November 29, 2010 - Last night's "Sunday Night Football" game was the No. 1 program on Sunday Night for the 12th straight week and led NBC to another Sunday night win despite the San Diego Chargers 36-14 blowout of the Indianapolis Colts, according to overnight data released today by The Nielsen Company. The game, in which the Chargers outscored the Colts 20-0 in the second half, earned a 13.0 overnight rating and 19 share, up three percent from last year's Week 12 game in which the Ravens beat the Steelers, 20-17, in an overtime thriller.
The rating peaked at a 13.6/20 from 9-9:30 p.m. ET early in the first half with the game still close before the Chargers pulled away, outscoring the Colts 20-0 in the second half.
DEFEATED ALL SUNDAY NIGHT COMPETITION: Last night's "Sunday Night Football" broadcast defeated all Sunday night competition for the 12th time in 12 weeks, on an evening that included such original competition as CBS's 60 Minutes, Amazing Race and the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie November Christmas, and Fox's Simpsons and Cleveland Show.
"Sunday Night Football" powered NBC to a Sunday night win in primetime (7-11 p.m.), topping second place CBS by 23 percent. NBC also beat Fox (which was aided by an NFL overrun) by 35 percent and ABC by 186 percent.
SNF IS 12 FOR 12: When the viewership is available tomorrow from Nielsen, "Sunday Night Football" is expected to be the most-watched Sunday night show for the 12th consecutive week (every week this season). Last season, SNF was the most-watched Sunday night primetime broadcast in a record 15 of 16 (94 percent) weeks. In 2008, SNF won 13 of 16 (81 percent) Sunday nights after winning 11 of 16 in 2007 (69 percent) and nine of 16 in 2006 (56 percent).
