UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - February 25, 2011 - NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" have generated #1 finishes for the late-night week of February 14-18, with Jay beating CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" and ABC's combination of "Nightline" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in viewers 18-49, total viewers and most other key demographics. At 12:35 a.m. ET, Jimmy Fallon also topped CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and "Kimmel" in 18-49 viewers, total viewers and most other key categories.
While "Tonight" and "Late Show" both rounded to a 0.9 rating for the week in adults 18-49, "Tonight" won by a 7 percent margin in viewers 18-49 (1.240 million adults 18-49 vs. 1.162 million). At 12:35 a.m. ET, Jimmy Fallon's margin over "Late Late Show" in viewers 18-49 was 19 percent (818,000 vs. 685,000).
Versus the first 22 weeks of last season, "Tonight" is up 44 percent in total viewers (3.902 million vs. 2.715 million), while "Late Show" is down 14 percent (3.615 million vs. 4.195 million). At 12:35 a.m. ET, Jimmy Fallon is up 23 percent versus his year-ago pace in total viewers (1.781 million vs. 1.452 million), while "Late Late Show" is down 9 percent (1.777 million vs. 1.954 million).
At 1:35 a.m. ET, "Last Call with Carson Daly" is up so far this season versus one year ago by 10 percent in 18-49 viewers (500,000 vs. 454,000) and up 26 percent in total viewers (1.005 million vs. 800,000).
Jay Leno has ranked #1 for 21 of 22 weeks this season versus "Late Show" in viewers 18-49 and for 20 of 22 weeks in total viewers. Jimmy Fallon has ranked #1 versus "Late Late Show" in viewers 18-49 for 22 of 22 weeks. In total viewers, Jimmy has won 12 of the last 14 weeks versus "Late Late Show."
