Some early info on ABC's Thursday, ahead of the regular press release.

In addition, the ABC veteran drama once again shot to the top of its time slot among Adults 18-34, Adults 25-54 and all key Women, finishing as Thursday's #1 TV show across the Women demographics (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).

· Surging over the prior week by 1.7 million viewers and by 11% in Adults 18-49, ABC's Grey's Anatomy pulled in its biggest audience in more than 7 months and hit a best-since-premiere young adult number - since 3/31/11 and 9/22/11, respectively. In addition, Grey's grew its Adult 18-34 audience for the 5th straight broadcast, earning its highest number since its season opener in September - since 9/22/11.

Additionally, Private Practice ran as the #1 drama in the hour for the 7th straight week with Adults 18-34 and Women 18-34.

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 43% currently, from 38% at the same point in 2010. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
