UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - November 29, 2011 - Paced by "NBC Sunday Night Football," which was the #1 primetime program of the week in adults 18-49, total viewers and most other key measures, NBC averaged a 2.0 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49 and 6.0 million viewers overall for the week of November 21-27, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research. For the week, NBC ranked #3 among the broadcast networks in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers, was #2 in men 18-49, men 25-54 and women 18-34 (tied), tied for #1 in adults 18-34 and #1 outright in men 18-34.

This week's "NBC Sunday Night Football" telecast, in which the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 13-9, was the #1 primetime program of the week on the broadcast networks in the key demographic of adults 18-49, as well as in adults and women 18-34, adults 25-54 and all key adult-male demos - men 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54. With an average 20.3 million viewers, "Sunday Night Football" was also the #1 primetime program of the week in total viewers.

Primetime averages for the week of November 21-27 in adults 18-49 were CBS (2.5/7), ABC (2.1/6), NBC (2.0/6), Fox (1.9/5) and CW (0.4/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (9.8 million), ABC (8.7 million), NBC (6.0 million), Fox (5.5 million) and CW (1.2 million).

The 28-night Nielsen November 2011 sweep concluded on Wednesday, November 23 (for the measurement period October 27-November 23, 2011). The November 2011 sweep averages in adults 18-49 were: Fox (3.1/8), CBS (2.8/8), ABC (2.5/7), NBC (2.4/6) and CW (0.7/2). NBC matched its 2.4 rating in the November 2010 sweep. In adults 18-34, NBC ranked #2 in the November 2011 sweep. The sweep results in adults 18-34 were: Fox (2.8/9), NBC (2.0/6), ABC (1.9/6), CBS (1.8/6) and CW (0.7/2). In total viewers, the 28-night November sweep averages were CBS (11.4 million), ABC (9.3 million), Fox (8.6 million), NBC (6.9 million) and CW (1.7 million).

NBC highlights for the week of November 21-27:

* On Sunday, NBC Sports' "Sunday Night Football" telecast of the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Kansas City Chiefs propelled NBC to a dominant primetime win in all key ratings measures - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49, 25-54 and total viewers.

* NBC topped its closest primetime competitor Sunday night by 56 percent in adults 18-49 and 14 percent or more than 2.1 million persons in total viewers.

* Sunday's Steelers-Chiefs game was up 11 percent in adults 18-49 and 7 percent in total viewers versus the "Sunday Night Football" Chargers-Colts matchup that aired during the same week last year

* "Up All Night" this week was up 15 percent in adults 18-49 versus NBC's average in the time period last season.

* So far this season, "Up All Night" is the #1 comedy and the #2 new series on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox, behind only NBC's "Grimm," in terms of percentage increase in going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven" in 18-49 rating, gaining on average 48 percent.

* On Tuesday, despite atypical competition from the concluding hour of ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" finale, "Parenthood" matched its 18-49 rating of the same night last year and was up 2 percent in total viewers.

* On Monday, "The Sing-Off" gained 8 percent in adults 18-49 versus the prior week. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Sing-Off" grew by 23 percent in 18-49 rating.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of November 21-27:

On Monday, November 21 from 8-10 p.m. ET, "The Sing-Off" averaged a 1.4 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49 and 4.3 million viewers overall in a highly competitive time period that included CBS's "Two and a Half Men," "How I Met Your Mother," "Two Broke Girls" and "Mike & Molly," ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" and debut of "You Deserve It" and Fox's "Terra Nova" and "House." Week to week, "The Sing-Off" gained 8 percent in 18-49 rating (1.4 vs. 1.3).

From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Sing-Off" grew by 23 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.6 rating from a 1.3). Note that on average this season, "The Sing-Off" has been adding 20 percent to its "live plus same day" 18-49 rating when Nielsen reports additional time-shifted viewing in "live plus seven day" results.

Monday at 10 p.m. ET, "Rock Center with Brian Williams" averaged a 0.9/2 in 18-49 and 3.6 million viewers overall.

On Tuesday, November 22 from 8-10 p.m. ET, "The Biggest Loser" averaged a 2.0/5 in 18-49 and 5.6 million viewers in a tough time period that included competition from CBS's "NCIS" and "NCIS: Los Angeles," ABC's "Last Man Standing," "Man Up" and "Dancing With the Stars" finale and Fox's two-hour "X Factor" Tuesday special. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Loser" gained 5 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 2.1 rating from a 2.0).

Tuesday at 10 p.m., "Parenthood" averaged a 1.9/5 in 18-49 and 4.6 million viewers overall versus the concluding hour of ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" finale and CBS's "Unforgettable." "Parenthood" matched its 18-49 rating from the same night last year and was up 2 percent in total viewers (4.566 million vs. 4.469 million). So far this season, "Parenthood" has added an average 42 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure.

On Wednesday, November 23 at 8 p.m. ET, "Up All Night" delivered a 1.5/5 in adults 18-49 and 4.3 million viewers overall. "Up All Night" was up 15 percent versus the 1.3 rating NBC averaged in this time period last season ("live plus same day," non-sports), despite time-period competition that included Fox's "X Factor," CBS's "Survivor" and ABC's "The Middle."

Note that "Up All Night" has been adding on average 48 percent to these next-day "live plus same day" ratings when Nielsen issues "live plus seven day" results so far this season, the biggest percentage increase for any comedy on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox and the second biggest for any new series on those networks, behind only NBC's "Grimm."

Wednesday at 8:30 ET, an encore telecast of "Up All Night" delivered a 1.0/3 in adults 18-49 and 3.0 million viewers overall.

Wednesday from 9-11 p.m. ET, "The Biggest Loser: Where Are They Now? Special" averaged a 1.2/4 in adults 18-49 and 3.8 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "The Biggest Loser" special grew by 8 percent in adults 18-49 rating (to a 1.3 rating from a 1.2), 14 percent in adults 25-54 (1.6 vs. 1.4) and 6 percent in total viewers (3.874 million vs. 3.661 million).

On Thursday, November 24 from 8-10 p.m. ET, the "NBC Movie of the Week" presentation of the 2008 feature film "Horton Hears a Who" averaged a 0.9/3 in adults18-49 and 3.1 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Horton Hears a Who" grew by 38 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.1 from a 0.8) and 27 percent in total viewers (3.6 million vs. 2.8 million).

Thursday at 10 p.m. ET, "The 85th Anniversary of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade" averaged a 0.9/3 in adults 18-49 and 3.0 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its second, the primetime parade special grew by 7 percent in total viewers (to 3.1 million from 2.9 million).

On Friday, November 25 from 8-10:49 p.m. ET, the "NBC Movie of the Week" telecast of the 2007 feature film "National Treasure: Book of Secrets" averaged a 1.0/3 in 18-49 and 4.1 million viewers overall. From its first to its final half-hour, the movie grew by 50 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.2 from a 0.8).

Friday from 10:49-11 p.m. ET, "NBC Sports Update" averaged a 0.6/2 in adults 18-49 and 2.3 million viewers overall.

On Saturday, November 26, at 8 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "The 85th Anniversary of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade" averaged a 0.6/2 in adults 18-49 and 2.6 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its second, the encore special grew by 20 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 0.6 from a 0.5) and by 11 percent in total viewers (2.7 million vs. 2.4 million). The rebroadcast also earned NBC's top 18-49 rating in this time period, excluding sports, since September 24.

Saturday from 9-11 p.m. ET, an "NBC Movie of the Week" rebroadcast of the 2007 animated feature film "Bee Movie" (1.0/3 in adults 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall) tied for #2 in the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and was #2 outright in adults, men and women 18-34 and men 18-49. "Bee Movie" scored NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the time period this season, excluding sports.

On Sunday, November 27, the "NBC Sunday Night Football" telecast of the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Kansas City Chiefs propelled NBC to a dominant primetime win in all key ratings measures. For its full duration, the Steelers-Chiefs game averaged a 7.9/18 in adults 18-49, 20.3 million viewers overall and a 12.3/19 household rating/share from 8:31-11:23 p.m. ET.

NBC won Sunday night in all key ratings categories - adults, men and women 18-49; adults, men and women 18-34; adults, men and women 25-54; plus total viewers. NBC topped its closest primetime rival by 56 percent in 18-49 rating (6.4 vs. a 4.1 for CBS, which was boosted by an NFL overrun) and 14 percent or more than 2.1 million persons in total viewers (16.8 million vs. 14.7 million for CBS).

Sunday's Steelers-Chiefs game was up 11 percent in 18-49 rating and 7 percent in total viewers versus the "Sunday Night Football" game that aired during the same week last year (a 7.1/17 and 19.100 million viewers for the Chargers-Colts matchup on November 28, 2010).

Also on Sunday, "Football Night in America 2" from 7:30-7:57 p.m. ET averaged a 1.3/3 in 18-49, 3.8 million viewers overall and a 2.5/4 household rating/share. "Football Night in America 3" from 7:57-8:22 p.m. delivered a 3.9/10 in 18-49, 10.8 million viewers overall and a 6.6/10 in households. From 8:22-8:31 p.m., "NBC Sunday Night Football Pre Kickoff" averaged a 5.2/13 in 18-49, 14.3 million viewers overall and an 8.7/13 in households. Note: "Football Night in America" from 7-7:30 p.m. ET was sustaining programming and does not figure in the nightly or weekly primetime averages.
