MONDAY'S 'WHO'S STILL STANDING' GROWS 11 PERCENT IN TOTAL VIEWERS VERSUS ITS PRIOR WEEK DEBUT AND, FOR A FIFTH CONSECUTIVE TELECAST, GROWS SUBSTANTIALLY FROM ITS FIRST HALF-HOUR TO ITS SECOND

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - January 4, 2012 - Paced by "NBC Sunday Night Football," which was the #1 primetime program of the week in all key measures, NBC won the week of December 26-January 1 in adults 18-49 and most other key demographic measures, averaging a 2.0 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49 and 6.3 million viewers overall, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

NBC ranked #1 in primetime among the broadcast networks this week in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and adults 25-54 as well as in women 18-34, women 18-49 (tie) and all key adult-male demographics - men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. NBC has won the last two weeks in a row in adults 18-49 and has ranked #1 or #2 in primetime's key demographic for the last five consecutive weeks.

This week's "NBC Sunday Night Football" telecast, in which the New York Giants defeated the Dallas Cowboys 31-14 to win the NFC East, was the #1 primetime program of the week in all key demographic measures - adults, men and women 18-49, 18-34 and 25-54. And, with an average 27.6 million viewers, "Sunday Night Football" was the #1 primetime program of the week in total viewers. Sunday's Cowboys-Giants game attracted the biggest overall viewership for a regular-season primetime NFL telecast since 1996.

Primetime averages for the week of December 26-January 1 in adults 18-49 were NBC (2.0/6), CBS (1.7/5), ABC (1.3/4), Fox (1.0/3) and CW (0.3/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (8.2 million), NBC (6.3 million), ABC (4.7 million), Fox (2.9 million) and CW (0.9 million).

NBC highlights for the week of December 26-January 1:

* On Sunday, NBC Sports' "Sunday Night Football" telecast of the Dallas Cowboys at the New York Giants fueled a commanding primetime win in all key measures - adults, men and women 18-49, 18-34 and 25-54, as well as total viewers.

* NBC tripled its closest primetime competitor Sunday night in adults 18-49 and almost doubled its nearest rival in total viewers.

* With an average 27.6 million viewers overall, Sunday's Cowboys-Giants game attracted the biggest overall viewership for a regular-season primetime NFL telecast since November 1996.

* Sunday's Cowboys-Giants game was up 42 percent in adults18-49 and 43 percent in total viewers versus the "Sunday Night Football" game that aired during the same week last year.

* On Friday, "Dateline NBC" ranked #1 in its time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key demos. "Dateline" tied for the #1 rating of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49 and was the #1 show of the night outright in adults 25-54

* On Monday, Who's Still Standing?" matched the 18-49 rating of its premiere the prior Monday and was up week to week by 11 percent in total viewers. "Who's Still Standing?" ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49 and was #1 among the broadcast networks in total viewers.

* For a fifth consecutive telecast, "Who's Still Standing?" generated significant growth from its first half-hour to its second, with Monday's telecast gaining 21 percent from half-hour to half-hour in adults 18-49 and 11 percent in total viewers.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of December 26-January 1:

On Monday, December 26 at 8 p.m. ET, "Who's Still Standing?" (1.5 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49, 6.2 million viewers overall) matched the 18-49 rating of its premiere telecast the prior Monday and grew week to week by 11 percent in total viewers (to 6.2 million from 5.6 million). "Who's Still Standing?" ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49 and was #1 among the broadcast networks in total viewers.

For a fifth consecutive telecast, "Who's Still Standing?" exhibited substantial growth from its first half-hour to its second, with Monday's telecast gaining 21 percent from half-hour to half-hour in adults 18-49 (to a 1.7 rating from a 1.4) and 11 percent in total viewers (6.5 million vs. 5.8 million). "Who's Still Standing?" was up 20 percent in total viewers versus NBC's season average in the time period prior to the debut of "Who's Still Standing?" (6.161 million vs. 5.151 million).

Monday at 9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Fear Factor" averaged a 1.5/4 in 18-49 and 4.0 million viewers overall. The "Fear Factor" rebroadcast ranked #2 in the hour among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49 and total viewers.

Monday at 10 p.m. ET, "Rock Center with Brian Williams" reported a 0.8/2 in 18-49 and 2.9 million viewers overall.

On Tuesday, December 27 from 8-10 p.m. ET, en encore telecast of "The Biggest Loser: Where Are They Now? Special" averaged a 1.0/3 in 18-49 and 3.0 million viewers overall.

At 10 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "Parenthood" delivered a 0.7/2 in 18-49 and 2.1 million viewers overall.

On Wednesday, December 28 from 8-9 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "Up All Night" delivered a 1.0/3 in adults 18-49 and 3.4 million viewers overall. Note that so far this season first-run telecasts of "Up All Night" have been adding on average 47 percent to these next-day "live plus same day" ratings when Nielsen issues "live plus seven day" results. From 8:30-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Whitney" averaged a 0.9/2 in 18-49 and 2.7 million viewers overall. Note that first-run telecasts of "Whitney" on Thursday night have been adding 34 percent in adults 18-49 to their "live plus same day" ratings when Nielsen issues "live plus seven day" results.

Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "Harry's Law" averaged a 0.5/1 in adults 18-49 and 3.3 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its second the "Harry's Law" encore grew in all key ratings measures, including gains of 20 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 0.6 from a 0.5) and 26 percent in total viewers (3.651 million vs. 2.908 million). Note that first-run episodes of "Harry's Law" have been adding 41 percent in 18-49 rating and 29 percent in total viewers to these next-day "live plus same day" results when Nielsen issues "live plus seven day" results so far this season.

Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.1/3 in 18-49, 4.3 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 80 percent in 18-49 rating to rank #2 in the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in all key ratings measures. Note that so far this season, first-run episodes of "SVU" have been adding 45 percent in 18-49 rating and 30 percent in total viewers to their next-day "live plus same day" results when Nielsen issues "live plus seven day" results.

On Thursday, December 29 at 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Community" averaged a 0.6/2 in 18-49 and 2.1 million viewers overall. Note that on average this season "Community" originals have been adding 39 percent to their next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 ratings when Nielsen reports additional time-shifted viewing in "live plus seven day" ratings.

Thursday at 8:30 ET, a rebroadcast of "Parks and Recreation" averaged a 0.7/2 in 18-49 and 1.7 million viewers overall, building on its lead-in by 17 percent in 18-49 rating. Keep in mind that on average this season, original telecasts of "Parks" have been adding 34 percent to their next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 rating when Nielsen includes additional time-shifted viewing in "live plus seven day" ratings.

Thursday from 9-9:31 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "The Office" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 2.6 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 43 percent in 18-49 rating and 45 percent in total viewers. Versus the prior week's rebroadcast in this slot, this week's encore "Office" grew by 11 percent in 18-49 rating (1.0 vs. 0.9) and 15 percent in total viewers (2.554 million vs. 2.222 million). Note that on average this season, "Office" originals have been adding 43 percent to their next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 ratings when Nielsen reports additional time-shifted viewing in "live plus seven day" ratings.

Thursday at 9:31 ET, a rebroadcast of "Whitney" averaged a 0.8/2 in adults 18-49 and 2.0 million viewers overall, growing versus the prior week's encore telecast in this slot by 14 percent in 18-49 rating (0.8 vs. 0.7) and 5 percent in total viewers (2.0 million vs. 1.9 million). On average this season, first-run episodes of "Whitney" have been adding 34 percent to their next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 ratings when Nielsen reports additional time-shifted viewing in "live plus seven day" ratings.

Thursday at 10 p.m. ET, a second rebroadcast of "The Office" delivered a 0.8/2 in 18-49 and 1.9 million viewers overall. At 10:30 p.m., an encore telecast of "Up All Night" delivered a 0.7/2 in 18-49 and 1.9 million viewers overall.

On Friday, December 30 at 8 p.m. ET, "Chuck" averaged a 0.8/3 in 18-49 and 3.1 million viewers overall. Note that on average this season, "Chuck" originals have been adding 43 percent to their next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 ratings when Nielsen reports additional time-shifted viewing in "live plus seven day" ratings.

Friday at 9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Grimm" averaged a 0.6/2 in 18-49 and 2.6 million viewers overall. So far this season, first-run episodes of "Grimm" have been adding an average 55 percent to their next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 rating when Nielsen reports time-shifted "live plus seven day" results.

Friday from 10-11 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.2/4, 5.3 million viewers overall) ranked #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key demos. "Dateline" tied for the #1 rating of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49 and was #1 outright in adults 25-54 (with a 1.8 rating).

"Dateline" grew from its first half-hour to its second in all key ratings categories, including gains of 18 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.3 from a 1.1), 19 percent in adults 25-54 (1.9 vs. 1.6) and 17 percent in total viewers (5.712 million vs. 4.872 million).

On Saturday, December 31 at 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Grimm" averaged a 0.5/2 in 18-49 and 2.2 million viewers overall. "Grimm" tied for #2 in the hour among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and was #2 outright in adults 25-54 and total viewers. At 9 p.m., a second rebroadcast of "Grimm" delivered a 0.4/2 in 18-49 and 1.7 million viewers overall.

Saturday from 10-11 p.m. ET, "New Year's Eve with Carson Daly" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall) finished #2 among the broadcast networks in the hour in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and other key demos. The primetime portion of "New Year's Eve with Carson Daly" built on its lead-in by 125 percent in 18-49 rating and 77 percent in total viewers.

From its first half-hour to its second, the primetime portion of "New Year's Eve with Carson Daly" grew dramatically in all key ratings categories, including gains of 57 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.1 from a 0.7) and 36 percent in total viewers (3.522 million vs. 2.582 million).

On Sunday, January 1, the "NBC Sunday Night Football" telecast of the Dallas Cowboys at the New York Giants fueled a dominant primetime win in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key measures. For its full duration, the Cowboys-Giants game averaged a 9.8/24 in adults 18-49, 27.6 million viewers overall and a 15.7/25 household rating/share from 8:32-11:31 p.m. ET.

With an average 27.6 million viewers overall, Sunday's Cowboys-Giants game attracted the biggest overall viewership for a regular-season primetime NFL telecast since 1996 (ABC's "Monday Night Football," November 18, 1996, Packers-Cowboys, 31.5 million).

Sunday's Cowboys-Giants game was up 42 percent in 18-49 rating and 43 percent in total viewers versus the "Sunday Night Football" game that aired during the same week last year (a 6.9/17 and 19.357 million viewers for the Rams-Seahawks matchup on January 2, 2011).

NBC ranked #1 in primetime Sunday night in all key ratings measures - adults, men and women 18-49, 18-34 and 25-54, as well as total viewers. NBC tripled its closest primetime rival in 18-49 rating (8.1 vs. a 2.7 for CBS, which was boosted by an NFL overrun) and almost doubled its closest competitor in total viewers (23.148 million vs. 11.699 million for CBS).

Also on Sunday, "Football Night in America 2" from 7:30-7:56 p.m. ET averaged a 2.4/7 in 18-49, 7.3 million viewers overall and a 4.2/7 household rating/share. "Football Night in America 3" from 7:56-8:22 p.m. delivered a 5.0/13 in 18-49, 14.4 million viewers overall and an 8.1/13 in households. From 8:22-8:32 p.m., "NBC Sunday Night Football Pre Kickoff" averaged a 7.4/20 in 18-49, 21.2 million viewers overall and an 11.8/19 in households. Note: "Football Night in America" from 7-7:30 p.m. ET was sustaining programming and does not figure in the nightly or weekly primetime averages.
