LIFETIME'S "DANCE MOMS" HITS SERIES HIGHS ACROSS ALL KEY DEMOS
March 6 Telecast of Hit Docusoap Averages 2.7 Million Total Viewers
and is Cable's Most Watched Show in its Time Period among Women
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 7, 2012) - Last night's telecast of Lifetime's hit docusoap Dance Moms reached series highs across all key demographics, including 2.7 million Total Viewers, 1.4 million Adults 25-54 viewers, 1.4 million Adults 18-49 viewers, 1.1 million Women 25-54 viewers and 1.1 million Women 18-49 viewers. The program was the number one show on cable in the 9:00pm hour last night among Women 18-49 and Women 25-54, as well as the most watched original program on cable in its time period in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49.
Set in Pittsburgh's renowned Abby Lee Dance Company, owned and operated by the notoriously demanding and passionate Abby Lee Miller, Dance Moms follows children's early steps on the road to stardom and their doting mothers who are there for every rehearsal, performance and bow... all under Miller's discerning eyes. Presenting a powerful cast of characters that continues to inspire water-cooler talk across the country, the show immerses itself in the highs and lows surrounding dance competition season, delivering a captivating and dramatic look at the cast's intense pursuit of National Dance titles.
Dance Moms returned for its second season in January with record viewership, having posted double and triple digit gains across key demographics versus its season one debut. With a median age of 32, it is Lifetime's youngest skewing series. Since its July 2011 premiere, Dance Moms has been viewed by more than 118 million viewers across all platforms, including linear, online and VOD. The program is produced by Collins Avenue.
