The broadcast featured Richard Schlesinger's updated report on the 2006 shooting death of Danny Hill at the hands of his wife Charlene, who claimed it was self-defense. She maintained she had been abused for most of their 25-year marriage. One night in 2006, Charlene pumped three bullets into her husband, killing him. She then dialed 911 and told police what she had done. Schlesinger's 48 HOURS MYSTERY report raised serious questions about spousal abuse and the limitations of the law.
