The Season Premiere of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" Sweeps its Time Period in Viewers and Key Demos

CBS Wins Premiere Wednesday in Viewers For the Sixth Time in Seven Years

SURVIVOR won its time period in viewers and adults 25-54 and was a very close second in adults 18-49, while CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION was first at 10:00 PM in key ratings measures, leading CBS to a premiere Wednesday victory in viewers, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Sept. 26.

SURVIVOR: PHILIPPINES (P) was first in households (6.3/10), viewers (10.16m) and adults 25-54 (4.1/11), and was second in adults 18-49 (3.0/09, -0.1 behind "X-Factor").

At 9:00 PM, CRIMINAL MINDS (P) was first in households (7.3/11) and second in viewers (11.59m, -0.15m behind ABC), while averaging 3.9/09 in adults 25-54 and 3.1/08 in adults 18-49.

At 10:00 PM, CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION (P) was first in households (6.7/11), viewers (10.66m), adults 25-54 (3.2/08) and adults 18-49 (2.5/07).

For the night, CBS was first in households (6.7/11) and viewers (10.80m), was second in adults 25-54 (3.7/09) and averaged 2.8/08 in adults 18-49. This is the sixth time in seven years CBS won premiere week Wednesday in viewers.

Note: DVR penetration is at 46%, up from 42% last season. Last fall, Live+7 audiences for original entertainment series on CBS averaged more than a +1.4 million viewer gain over live plus same day ratings, more than any other network. This season, we expect DVR usage to continue to expand, increasing DVR playback deliveries.

Updated Wednesday ratings will be available later.
