CBS Wins the Night in Viewers

THE 39TH ANNUAL PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS posted year-to-year growth in viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Wednesday, Jan. 9.

From 9:00-11:00 PM, THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS (S) was first in households (6.3/10) and viewers (9.64m), tied for first in adults 25-54 (3.4/08, with ABC) and was second in adults 18-49 (2.6/07). Compared to the same special last year (on Jan. 11, 2012), CBS was up +7% in households (from 5.9/09), +13% in adults 25-54 (from 3.0/07), +4% in adults 18-49 (from 2.5/07) and added +760,000 viewers (from 8.88m, +9%).

If the ratings hold, THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS posted its best deliveries in households, viewers and adults 25-54 since 2010, in adults 18-49 since 2011.

At 8:00 PM, I GET THAT A LOT (S) was first in households (4.9/08) and viewers (7.75m), and was second in both adults 25-54 (2.6/07) and adults 18-49 (2.0/06).

For the night, CBS was first in households (5.8/09) and viewers (9.01m), and was second in adults 25-54 (3.1/07, -0.1 behind ABC) and adults 18-49 (2.4/06).
