Week No. 18 During the week of January 21, 2013, ABC aired 4 of the week's Top 20 TV programs in Adults 18-49, and for the 2nd week in a row delivered the No. 1 scripted program with "Modern Family:" "Modern Family" - No. 3, "Grey's Anatomy" - No. 12, while "The Bachelor" and "The Middle" tied at No. 17.

· ABC was the only major network up year to year, building over the same week last year by 6% in Adults 18-49 (1.7/5 vs. 1.6/4 on w/o 1/23/12).

Monday

With "The Bachelor" and "Castle" on the rise, ABC delivered its top rated Monday among Adults 18-49 (2.3/6) with regular programming since November 19, 2012. ABC ranked No. 1 on the night with Adults 18-34, Women 18-34 (2nd week in a row) and Women 18-49.

"The Bachelor" (8:00-10:01 p.m.)

Building for the 2nd straight week in Adults 18-49 (+4%), ABC's "The Bachelor" beat NBC's "The Biggest Loser 14" in head-to-head competition from 8:00 - 10:00 p.m. (2.5/6 vs. 2.4/6). The ABC unscripted series continued to lead its time slot among its core audience of Women 18-34 and stood as Monday's No. 1 series for the 3rd straight week. "The Bachelor" hit season highs across all key Adult demos (AD18-34/AD18-49/AD25-54). In fact, the show delivered 16-month highs for ABC in the 2-hour time period in Adults 18-34 (2.6/7) and Women 18-34 (3.9/10) - since 9/19/11.

"Castle" (10:01-11:00 p.m.)

During the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's "Castle" more than doubled the audience of NBC's "Deception" (+144% - 8.8 million vs. 3.6 million) and led by increasing margins with key Adults: AD18-49 (+54% - 2.0/5 vs. 1.3/3) and AD25-54 (+73% - 2.6/6 vs. 1.5/4). Gaining 5% week to week in Adults 18-49 (2.0/5 vs. 1.9/5), "Castle" equaled its highest rating since October - since 10/29/12. In addition, the ABC drama earned the series' best Adult 18-34 rating in nearly 1 year - since 2/27/12.

Tuesday

Featuring the debut of "The Taste" and the series finale of "Private Practice," ABC ranked No. 1 on Tuesday in Adults 18-49 (1.9/5), leading by double digits over Fox (+12% - 1.7/4), NBC (+19% - 1.6/4), and CBS (+27% - 1.5/4).

"The Taste" (8:00-10:00 p.m.)

ABC's "The Taste" opened at No. 1 from 8:00-10:00 p.m. among Adults 18-49 (2.1/5), beating original comedy programming on Fox by 24% (1.7/4) and NBC by 40% (1.5/4). The new show gained young adult audience throughout its premiere, building by 16% from its first half-hour to its final half-hour (1.9/5 to 2.2/6). "The Taste" earned ABC's strongest non-sports Adult 18-49 rating in the 2-hour slot since November (since 11/27/12) and matched the "Dancing" premiere in September (2.1/6 on 9/25/12).

· Among Adults 18-49, "The Taste" is ABC's top in-season unscripted debut in nearly 2 years and the 2nd-highest on any net since "The X-Factor" opened in September 2011 - since 3/6/11 and 9/22/11, respectively.

"Private Practice" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

Spiking week to week in Total Viewers (+29% - 5.3 million vs. 4.1 million) and Adults 18-49 (+25% - 1.5/4 vs. 1.2/3), ABC's "Private Practice" closed out with the show's highest numbers in 15 weeks - since 10/9/12.

Wednesday

ABC ranked No. 2 on Wednesday night in Adults 18-49 (2.4/7-tie) to a 2-hour "Idol"-driven Fox. ABC's "Modern Family" was once again Wednesday's No. 1 scripted TV show across all key Adult demos (AD18-34/AD18-49/AD25-54).

"The Middle" (8:00-8:30 p.m.)

At 8:00 p.m., ABC's "The Middle" grew week to week in Total Viewers (+4% - 8.5 million vs. 8.2 million) and Adults 18-49 (+9% - 2.5/7 vs. 2.3/7) to 10-week highs on both measures (since 11/14/12), and ranked as the No. 1 scripted show in its half-hour.

"The Neighbors" (8:30-9:00 p.m.)

At 8:30 p.m., "The Neighbors" built over the prior week in viewers (+5% - 6.4 million vs. 6.1 million) and young adults (+11% - 2.0/5 vs. 1.8/5) and was the top-rated scripted show in its slot among Adults 18-49. The new ABC comedy posted its 2nd highest Adult 18-49 number since November 7, 2012.

"Modern Family" (9:00-9:31 p.m.)

Spiking over its lead-in at 9:00 p.m. (+110%), ABC's "Modern Family" led its nearest scripted competition in the half-hour by 35% in Adults 18-49 (4.2/11 vs. 3.1/8 for CBS' "Criminal Minds"). "Modern Family" was up week to week with Adults 18-34 (+6%).

"Suburgatory" (9:31-10:00 p.m.)

In the 9:30 p.m. half-hour, ABC's "Suburgatory" held 100% of its overall audience week to week (6.1 million) and was up with Adults 18-34 (+6%).

"Nashville" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

During the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's "Nashville" took second to CBS' "CSI" in Total Viewers (5.5 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.9/5), while winning in the hour with Women 18-34 for its 3rd straight telecast.

· Season to date, "Nashville" is one of the Top 5 biggest percentage gainers in TV playback and the top new show (tied w/"Revolution"), jumping by 63% in Adults 18-49 (+1.2 rating points - from a 1.9 L+SD rating to a 3.1 L+7 rating). The ABC freshman drama also adds on 2.8 million viewers to its preliminary L+SD tally in the L+7 finals (6.2 million to 9.0 million).

Thursday

With a mix of original and repeat programming, ABC ranked No. 2 on Thursday in Adults 18-49 (2.0/5-tie) to an "Idol"-led Fox, outperforming NBC's all-original lineup on the night by 54% (1.3/4).

"Grey's Anatomy" (9:00-10:02 p.m.)

More than doubling its Adult 18-49 lead-in (+150%) at 9:00 p.m. and building week to week, ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" won its hour to finish as Thursday's No. 1 drama. During the 9 o'clock hour, "Grey's" (3.0/8) moved past Fox's "Idol"-driven "Glee" by 15% (2.6/7) and beat NBC's original comedies by 88% ("The Office"/"1600 Penn" = 1.6/4).

· "Grey's" was up week to week in Total Viewers (+2% - 9.0 million vs. 8.8 million) and held 100% in Adults 18-49 (3.0/8). In addition, the ABC drama gained among Women 18-34 (+5%) to deliver its highest rating since October 4, 2012.

"Scandal" (10:02-11:00 p.m.)

A repeat of ABC's "Scandal" won the 10 o'clock hour among Adults 18-49 (1.7/5), besting CBS' "Elementary" replay by 13% (1.5/4) and NBC's first-run "Rock Center with Brian Williams" by 113% (0.8/2). "Scandal" was the No. 1 series in its slot for its 6th consecutive broadcast with young adults.

· In Total Viewers (5.6 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.7/5), "Scandal" marked its highest ever repeat numbers, topping its previous encore highs by 56% and 89%, respectively (3.6 million and 0.9/3 on 01/03/13).

· Continuing to improve its time period year to year, the "Scandal" replay more than doubled the year-ago "Private Practice" repeat (2.8 million and 0.8/2 on 1/26/12) in viewers (+100%) and young adults (+113%).

Friday

"Shark Tank" (9:00-10:01 p.m.)

At 9:00 p.m., ABC's repeat "Shark Tank" topped each of its network rivals in Adults 18-49 (1.4/4), beating NBC with an original "Dateline" by 17% (1.2/3), Fox's replay "The Following" by 27% (1.1/3) and CBS' encore "CSI: NY" by 40% (1.0/3).

"20/20" (10:01-11:00 p.m.)

ABC's "20/20" beat the second hour of NBC's "Dateline" head to head by 6% in the key Adult 25-54 news demo (1.8/5 vs. 1.7/4) to rank No. 1 in the 10 o'clock hour. The ABC newsmagazine (1.4/4) also outdelivered its NBC (1.2/4) and CBS competition ("Blue Bloods" = 1.0/3) in Adults 18-49.

· "20/20" was up week to week in Total Viewers (+5%), Adults 18-49 (+17%) and Adults 25-54 (+13%).

Sunday

"America's Funniest Home Videos" (7:00-8:00 p.m.)

From 7:00-8:00 p.m., ABC's replay "America's Funniest Home Videos" ranked as the No. 2 program in Adults 18-49 (1.8/5), beating CBS' original "60 Minutes" by 6% (1.7/5) and Fox's comedies ("Bob's Burgers"/"The Cleveland Show") by 80% (1.0/3). "AFHV" hit a season high in the young adult demo, while scoring its best repeat number in over 2 years - since 12/12/10.
