UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - April 23, 2013 - With "The Voice" ranking #1 and #2 among primetime programs on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, total viewers, adults 18-34, adults 25-54, teens 12-17 and kids 2-11 for the week of April 15-21, NBC has delivered its highest weeklong 18-49 and total-viewer results in 14 weeks, according to "live plus same day" viewing data from Nielsen Media Research. For the week, NBC averaged a 1.8 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 5.6 million viewers overall.

NBC's 1.8 rating in adults 18-49 pulled it within a tenth of a rating point of the 1.9 for #1 Fox. NBC ranked #1 for the week among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in women 18-49 and women 25-54 (tie). These are NBC's highest weeklong 18-49 and total-viewer results since the week of January 7-13.

The Monday edition of "The Voice" ranked #1 virtually across the board among primetime telecasts on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox, with the broad-based hit topping the rankers in adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, teens 12-17, kids 2-11, adults 35-49 and total viewers.

The Tuesday telecast of "The Voice" finished #2 for the week in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, all key women categories, men 18-34 (tie), men 18-49, teens 12-17, kids 2-11, adults 35-49 and total viewers. This marks the first time "The Voice" has ranked #1 and #2 among primetime shows on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox for a week in total viewers.

Monday's primetime NBC News coverage of the Boston Marathon bombing tied for #6 for the week in adults 18-49.

Primetime averages for the week of April 15-21 in adults 18-49 are: Fox, 1.9/6; NBC, 1.8/5; CBS, 1.8/5; ABC, 1.4/4; and CW, 0.4/1. In overall total viewers, the weekly averages were: CBS, 8.3 million; ABC, 6.6 million; Fox, 5.6 million; NBC, 5.6 million; and CW, 1.2 million.

Season to date averages through eight weeks are: CBS, 3.0/8; Fox, 2.5/7; NBC, 2.4/7; ABC, 2.2/6; and CW, 0.7/2. In overall total viewers, the season averages are: CBS, 12.1 million; ABC, 7.8 million; Fox, 7.1 million; NBC, 7.0 million; and CW, 1.8 million.

NBC highlights for the week of April 15-21

Monday: NBC finished #1 for the night in 18-49 and total viewers, for NBC's third Monday win in four weeks in 18-49 and first Monday victory in total viewers since Christmas Eve ("It's a Wonderful Life").

"The Voice" (5.2 rating, 14 share in adults 18-49, 14.4 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) scored the show's best 18-49 and total-viewer numbers for any day of the week since March 12, 2012. "The Voice" was up 13 percent in 18-49 versus the fourth Monday telecast of the prior cycle (4.6 on October 1, 2012) and up 41 percent versus the same night last year (3.7 on April 16, 2012). From its first half-hour to its fourth, "The Voice" grew by 1.3 rating points or 29 percent in 18-49 (to a 5.8 from a 4.5). In total viewers, the increase is 19 percent or 2.5 million persons (15.6 million vs. 13.1 million).

For a second week in a row, "The Voice" topped "Dancing With the Stars" in total viewers (14.5 million vs. 13.4 million), giving "The Voice" the time-period win among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in every key ratings category.

The NBC News Special "Terror in Boston" (3.0/8 in adults 18-49, 8.8 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) ranked #1 in the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and all other key demographics. "Terror in Boston" was the #2 telecast of the night in adults 18-49 and 25-54, behind only "The Voice."

Tuesday: NBC won its third consecutive Tuesday in adults 18-49 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox, with "The Voice" (4.6/15 in 18-49, 14.2 million viewers overall from 8-9:01 p.m. ET) hitting Tuesday season highs in 18-49 and total viewers. "The Voice" delivered the #1 rating of the night in 18-49, more than doubling the #2 show on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox (+109 percent vs. the 2.2 each for CBS's 9 p.m. "NCIS" encore and ABC's 9 p.m. "Dancing With the Stars"). "The Voice" is also #1 for the night in total viewers, topping "Dancing With the Stars" (14.2 million at 8 p.m. vs. 12.7 million at 9 p.m.) for the fourth time in two weeks, twice in a row on Monday nights and twice in a row on Tuesday nights.

"Ready for Love" averaged a 1.2/3 in 18-49 and 3.2 million in total viewers from 9:01-11 p.m. ET. For its second hour from 10-11 p.m. ET, "Ready for Love" ranked #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in women 18-34 (with a 1.0 rating).

Wednesday: An encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.1/3 in adults 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall at 9 p.m. ET) grew versus the prior week's rebroadcast by 22 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.1 from a 0.9) and 19 percent in total viewers (4.5 million vs. 3.8 million). From its first half-hour to its second, "SVU" increased its rating by 20 percent in 18-49 (to a 1.2 from a 1.0).

Thursday: "Community" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall at 8 p.m. ET) grew week to week in 18-49 for a second week in a row and in total viewers for a third week in a row, to earn its highest 18-49 and total-viewer results since March 7.

"Parks and Recreation" (1.7/5 in 18-49, 3.4 million viewers overall from 9-9:31 p.m. ET) scored the show's highest 18-49 and total-viewer results since February 7.

At 9:31 p.m. ET, a second telecast of "Parks and Recreation" (1.7/5 in 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall) maintained 100 percent of the 9 p.m. episode's 18-49 rating, to match the show's top rating since February 7. Excluding an hour-long "Office" and an NFL game, this is NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the slot since November 15.

"Hannibal" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 3.5 million viewers overall at 10:01 p.m. ET) topped NBC's time-period average this season prior to "Hannibal" by 40 percent in adults 18-49 (1.4 vs. 1.0, L+SD, excludes live news and sports). In its three weeks so far, "Hannibal" has delivered NBC's three highest 18-49 ratings in the time period this season with entertainment programming (excludes live news and sports).

Friday: "Rock Center with Brian Williams" (1.9/6 in 18-49, 6.8 million viewers overall from 10:12-11 p.m. ET) delivered a series record in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 (2.5 rating), while the overall audience of 6.8 million trails only a special "Rock Center" on January 23, 2012 that featured a Republic Presidential Debate. "Rock Center" led the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in 18-49, 25-54, total viewers and other key measures.

Sunday: "All-Star Celebrity Apprentice" (1.6/4 in 18-49, 5.0 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET) ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox for its first hour in adults 18-49 and tied for #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC from 10-11 p.m. ET.
