Network Sequel Ranks as #1 Movie of the Day and #3 Movie of the Week

"Beverly Lewis' The Confession", Hallmark Channel's dramatic sequel to the highly acclaimed 2011 original movie, "Beverly Lewis' The Shunning", earned a 1.4 household rating and attracted over 2.2 million unduplicated viewers during its Saturday, May 11 world premiere. The film, based on the second novel of The Heritage of Lancaster County series from New York Times best-selling author Beverly Lewis, also ranked as the #1 movie of the day and #3 movie the week.

In the Saturday 9-11pm time period, "Beverly Lewis' The Confession" was in the top 10 for household and key demo ratings, including #2 in HH (1.4 rtg) and P2+ (.7 rtg), respectively. In addition, the original movie ranked #3 in HH (1,175,000) and #4 in P2+ (1,525,000). "Beverly Lewis' The Confession" elevated Hallmark Channel to be 2nd highest cable network in prime time for the day among HH (1.2 HH rtg).

In "Beverly Lewis' The Confession", Katie Lapp (Leclerc) is a young Amish woman who has ventured out of her small Lancaster community, for the first time to travel, to New York City to track down her birth mother, Laura Mayfield-Bennett (Stringfield). Luckily, Katie finds Laura, who is sadly dying of cancer, but is shocked to discover that an imposter claiming to be Katie is already living in Laura's home. As Katie and Laura try to unravel the mystery, Daniel Fisher, the young man who captured Katie's heart years ago, has returned to find Katie-the one woman he ever truly loved. The original movie stars Sherry Stringfield, Katie Leclerc, Adrian Paul, and Cameron Stewart.
