NBCSN Primetime Viewership up 13% year to date
STAMFORD, Conn. - July 2, 2013 - Buoyed by more live programming hours in the second quarter than ever, NBC Sports Network averaged 633,000 primetime viewers - marking the most-watched quarter in primetime (8-11 p.m.) in the network's history and a 17% increase vs. last year, according to data released by The Nielsen Company.
NBC Sports Network's average Q2 primetime viewership increased by 94,000 viewers over 2012, resulting in the largest year-over-year increase among all sports cable networks in the quarter.
In addition, NBC Sports Network posted its most-watched non-Olympic quarter in total day (6 a.m. - 6 a.m.) with an average of 153,000 viewers. Live Q2 programming included the Stanley Cup Playoffs, featuring two games of the Stanley Cup Final, Formula One racing, IndyCar, MLS, pre-game and post-game studio programming, and studio shows The Dan Patrick Show and Pro Football Talk.
SECOND QUARTER RESULTS:
· NBC Sports Network averaged 633k viewers in primetime (8-11 p.m.) and 153k viewers for total day (6 a.m. - 6 a.m.) during the second quarter of 2013, up 17% and 20% respectively, from the second quarter in 2012 (539k and 128k);
· In the Adult 18-49 demo, viewership was up 14% for primetime and 18% for total day programming.
Year to date, NBC Sports Network viewership is up 13% in primetime and up 14% in total day compared to the first half of 2012.
