2013 Chevrolet Home Run Derby on ESPN Delivers Strong 5.0 Overnight Rating

Derby Telecast Up Six Percent from 2012

The 2013 Chevrolet Home Run Derby on ESPN - Oakland Athletics' outfielder Yoenis Cespedes was crowned the Derby champion after a thrilling performance - delivered a strong 5.0 overnight rating, according to Nielsen. This is up six percent compared to last year's telecast, which delivered a 4.7. It also marks the highest-rated Home Run Derby since 2009. Based on the overnights, ESPN was the top-rated network across all of television in prime time on Monday.

Local market notes Several local markets experienced exponential growth for this year's Home Run Derby. The telecast delivered a 9.0 rating in the Baltimore market, which is up 133 percent from 2012. Additionally, the Home Run Derby in New York - the host city for this year's event - scored a 7.9 rating, which is up 19 percent from 2012.
