Discovery Channel Grabs #1 Ad Supported Cable Telecast on Cable Among Persons 25-54 in July

- Discovery Delivers Double Digits Increases in Key Demos July 2013 vs. July 2012 -

(Silver Spring, MD) Discovery Channel had the #1 ad-supported program in ALL OF CABLE among Persons 25-54 delivery during July 2013 with NAKED AND AFRAID. In addition, Discovery's July Prime Time delivery was up double digits vs. June 2012 in key demos.

NAKED AND AFRAID averaged 2.91 million total viewers P2+ for the month and brought Discovery its second best July Sundays in network history among HH, P/M/W25-54, P/M/W18-49 and P/W18-34 delivery. NAKED AND AFRAID also helped drive Discovery's July Sunday total viewership P2+ delivery to a monumental +78% increase vs. the same time period in 2012.

Discovery's July double digit increases for the month vs. July 2012 included Persons 25-54 (+13%), Men 25-54 (+16%), Persons 18-49 (+14%) and Men 18-49 (+16%). Total viewership P2+ was also up for the month by 9% vs. July 2012. This sharp increase in Discovery's Prime Time ratings pushed the network into the Top 5 on cable for Men 25-54 delivery and Men 18-49 delivery and into the Top 10 on cable for Persons 25-54, Persons 18-49 and Men 18-34 for the month.

Discovery's Monday and Tuesday night series were ranked #1 in Men on their respective nights in July (excluding sports/movies). DEADLIEST CATCH was the #1 Tuesday program in ALL OF CABLE among Persons and Men 25-54 and Men 18-49 delivery averaging 2.8 million total viewers P2+ for the month. FAST 'N LOUD was the #1 Monday night cable program among both Men 25-54 and Men 18-49 averaging 2.24 million total viewers P2+. Additional series that ranked in the top-5 on their respective nights during July among Men 25-54 delivery included STREET OUTLAWS (#3 on Mondays) and WARLOCKS RISING (#3 on Fridays).

Discovery was also in the Top 10 ad-supported cable networks seven days a week among Men in July, including #1 on Tuesdays, with three of the Top-5 ad supported cable programs among M25-54 delivery in July, including DEADLIEST CATCH (#2), NAKED AND AFRAID (#3) and FAST N' LOUD (#5) (includes all nights, excludes sports).
