Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS, "Big Bang Theory" Top the Charts in Viewers, Demos

Here are the highlights of the 17 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (11/14/13):

CBS (10.553 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.5, #1) was the top draw on Thursday thanks to its mix of "The Big Bang Theory" (17.981 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 5.1, #1), "The Millers" (11.281 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.7, #3), "The Crazy Ones" (8.678 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T5), "Two and a Half Men" (8.601 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T5) and "Elementary" (8.387 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.6, #7).

ABC (7.036 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.1, #2) then took home the silver behind new episodes of "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" (3.712 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.9, #16), "Grey's Anatomy" (8.449 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.6, #4) and "Scandal" (8.947 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.9, #2).

Next up was FOX (4.890 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #3) with originals from "The X Factor" (5.287 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.4, #9) and "Glee" (4.494 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.5, #8).

Meanwhile, NBC (3.489 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4) served up the return of "Parks & Recreation" (3.366 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T12), a second "Parks & Recreation" (3.262 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T12) and new episodes of "Sean Saves the World" (3.146 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T14), "The Michael J. Fox Show" (2.938 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T14) and "Parenthood" (4.110 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T10).

And finally, new episodes of "The Vampire Diaries" (2.673 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T10) and "Reign" (1.731 million viewers, #17; adults 18-49: 0.7, #17) on The CW (2.202 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #5) closed out the night. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Diaries" delivered a 1.9 rating at 8:00/7:00c and "Reign" a 0.9 rating at 9:00/8:00c.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.7/4; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.0/5.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.6/6 in metered-market households and a 0.5/4 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.4/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.2/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (11/15/12):

CBS (13.62 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.4, #1) was the network to beat on Thursday with new episodes of "The Big Bang Theory" (17.39 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 5.5, #1) - a season high, "Two and a Half Men" (13.90 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 4.1, #2) - also a season high, "Person of Interest" (14.51 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.1, #T3) - matching its season high - and "Elementary" (10.72 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.3, #6).

ABC (6.88 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.2, #T2) then snagged the silver with originals from "Last Resort" (5.82 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T11) - its lowest rating to date, "Grey's Anatomy" (8.66 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 3.1, #T3) and "Scandal" (6.14 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T7).

Sharing second place was FOX (6.28 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.2, #T2) and its pairing of "The X Factor" (7.29 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.4, #5) and "Glee" (5.28 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T7).

Meanwhile, NBC (3.70 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.4, #4) offered up its mix of "30 Rock" (3.41 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T13), "Up All Night" (3.12 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T11), "The Office" (4.15 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 2.0, #9) - tied as its series low, "Parks & Recreation" (3.57 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.7, #10) and "Rock Center With Brian Williams" (3.99 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.1, #15).
