ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Delivers Its Best Performance Since Moving to 11:35pm

Some early points on Jimmy Kimmel Live's weekly numbers, ahead of the regular press release:

During the week of November 18, 2013, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live grew week to week by 15% in Total Viewers to draw its biggest overall audience since its first week at 11:35pm in January - since the week of 1/7/13. In addition, JKL shot up over the prior week by 29% in Adults 18-49 to hit a season high, and excluding the NBA finals weeks in June, to its best performance since January when the show moved to 11:35pm - since w/o 1/7/13.

Growing year over year in all 9 weeks of the season, JKL posted enormous double-digit gains over the year-ago week (w/o 11/19/12) in Total Viewers (+63%) and Adults 18-49 (+86%).

· ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live ranked as the week's #2 talk show in late-night in Adults 18-49. In fact, JKL ran neck-and-neck with NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno as the #1 late-night talk show among Adults 18-49, as just 59k young adult viewers separated the two late-night programs, while beating Leno by 9% in Adults 18-34.

· ABC's JKL increased its advantage over CBS' The Late Show with David Letterman in Adults 18-49, beating the CBS late-night talk show by 32% (versus +9% the prior week). JKL delivered its 2nd-largest advantage over Letterman this season among Adults 18-34, with a 68% lead over the CBS program.

ABC Late-Night (Monday - Friday)

With its late-night lineup of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" at 11:35 p.m. and "Nightline" at 12:35 a.m. during the week of November 18, 2013, ABC delivered season-high performances in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, growing week to week by 12% in viewers (2.442 million vs. 2.172 million) and 25% among young adults (878,000 vs. 701,000). In fact, ABC drew its largest audience in late-night in 7 months and hit a 5-month high with Adults 18-49 - since the weeks of 4/15/13 and 6/17/13, respectively.

ABC grew over the same week last year (2.237 million and 660,000, respectively, on w/o 11/19/12) by 9% in Total Viewers and by 33% in Adults 18-49.

· ABC was the No. 1 network in late-night in Adults 18-49 (878,000), beating NBC by 10% (800,000) and CBS by 37% (641,000).

"Jimmy Kimmel Live" (M-F 11:35 p.m.)

During the week of November 18, 2013, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" grew week to week by 15% in Total Viewers (2.858 million vs. 2.490 million) to draw its biggest overall audience since its first week at 11:35 p.m. in January - since the week of 1/7/13. In addition, "JKL" shot up over the prior week by 29% in Adults 18-49 (1.049 million vs. 813,000) to hit a season high, and excluding the NBA finals weeks in June, to its best performance since January when the show moved to 11:35 p.m. - since w/o 1/7/13.

Growing year over year in all 9 weeks of the season, "JKL" posted enormous double-digit gains over the year-ago week (1.750 million and 563,000, respectively, on w/o 11/19/12) in Total Viewers (+63%) and Adults 18-49 (+86%).

· ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" ranked as the week's No. 2 talk show in late-night in Adults 18-49. In fact, "JKL" ran neck-and-neck with NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" as the No. 1 late-night talk show among Adults 18-49, as just 59,000 young adult viewers separated the two late-night programs (1.049 million vs. 1.108 million), while beating "Leno" by 9% in Adults 18-34 (388,000 vs. 357,000).

· ABC's "JKL" increased its advantage over CBS' "The Late Show with David Letterman" in Adults 18-49, beating the CBS late-night talk show by 32% (1.049 million vs. 793,000) versus 9% the prior week. "JKL" delivered its 2nd-largest advantage over "Letterman" this season among Adults 18-34, with a 68% lead over the CBS program (388,000 vs. 231,000).

"Nightline" (M-F 12:35 a.m.)

ABC News' "Nightline" drew 1.683 million Total Viewers, 716,000 Adults 25-54 and 565,000 Adults 18-49 for the week of November 18, 2013, according to Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" posted double-digit increases week to week across all key target demos: Total Viewers (+10%), Adults 25-54 (+12%) and Adults 18-49 (+19%) - 1.524 million, 641,000 and 474,000, respectively, on w/o 11/11/13.

"Nightline" also improved on ABC's performance in the time period last year by double-digits in Total Viewers (+13%), Adults 25-54 (+10%) and Adults 18-49 (+19%) - 1.485 million, 653,000, and 473,000, respectively, on w/o 11/19/12.

"Nightline" outperformed CBS' "The Late Late Show" during the week in Total Viewers (+175,000), Adults 25-54 (+71,000) and Adults 18-49 (+79,000). "Nightline" has beaten the CBS program in all 9 weeks of the season in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49 and in 8 of 9 weeks in Adults 25-54.

"Nightline" aired the No. 1 telecast on Tuesday (11/19/13) in Total Viewers (1.735 million), Adults 25-54 (882,000) and Adults 18-49 (692,000), beating CBS' "The Late Late Show" (1.377 million, 679,000 and 458,000, respectively) and NBC's "Late Night" (1.597 million, 635,000 and 609,000, respectively).
