"Nightline" Ranks No. 1 on Thursday in Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49

"Nightline" Again Outperforms "The Late Late Show" in Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49, Beating CBS in All 13 Weeks of the Season in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49 and in 12 of 13 Weeks in Adults 25-54

"Nightline" Hits Season Highs in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49, Posting Strongest Numbers in Both Key Adult Demos in 6 Months

ABC News' "Nightline" drew 1.621 million Total Viewers, 759,000 Adults 25-54 and 594,000 Adults 18-49 for the week of December 16, 2013, according to Nielsen Media Research.

"Nightline" improved week to week in Adults 25-54 (+9%) and Adults 18-49 (+15%) - 698,000 and 518,000, respectively, on w/o 12/9/13. In fact, hitting season highs, "Nightline" posted its strongest numbers in both key adult demos in 6 months - since w/o 6/17/13.

"Nightline" built on ABC's performance in the time period on the year-ago week in Total Viewers (+9%), Adults 25-54 (+20%) and Adults 18-49 (+24%) - 1.481 million, 633,000, and 478,000, respectively, on w/o 12/17/12.

"Nightline" ranked No. 1 on Thursday (12/19/13) in Total Viewers (1.805 million), Adults 25-54 (941,000) and Adults 18-49 (742,000), versus CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.283 million, 566,000 and 450,000, respectively) and NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.676 million, 800,000 and 652,000, respectively). Further, "Nightline's" Thursday airing stood as its top Adult 25-54 telecast in 6 months - since 6/18/13.

On average in its new time period this season "Nightline" is up over ABC's performance compared to the same weeks last year in Total Viewers (+3%). In addition, "Nightline" leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" across the board: Total Viewers (+194,000), Adults 25-54 (+78,000) and Adults 18-49 (+49,000).

Hitting Season Highs in Key Adults, "Nightline" Posts its Best Numbers in 6 Months

ABC Late-Night (Monday - Friday)

With its late-night lineup of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" at 11:35 p.m. and "Nightline" at 12:35 a.m. during the week of December 16, 2013, ABC grew over the prior week by 6% in Adults 18-49 (824,000 vs. 780,000) to deliver its best performance in late-night in 1 month -- since the week of 11/18/13. ABC was also up over the year-ago week for the 4th time in the last 5 weeks among young adults (+17% - 706,000 on w/o 12/17/12).

· ABC stood as the week's 2nd-most-watched network in late-night (2.297 million), behind only NBC. In addition, ABC dominated CBS by 24% among Adults 18-49 (824,000 vs. 665,000), marking its 13th win in 13 weeks over CBS this season.

"Jimmy Kimmel Live" (M-F 11:35 p.m.)

During the week of December 16, 2013, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" grew to a 3-week high in Adults 18-49 (+3% - 939,000 vs. 914,000) - since the week of 11/25/13.

"JKL" saw sizable gains over the same week last year (w/o 12/17/12) in both Total Viewers (+45% - 2.635 million vs. 1.813 million) and Adults 18-49 (+64% - 939,000 vs. 574,000), growing year over year on all 13 weeks of the season.

· ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" stood as the week's No. 2 talk show in late-night in Adults 18-49 (939,000), behind only NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."

· For the 13th straight week, "JKL" outperformed CBS' "The Late Show with David Letterman" in Adults 18-49 (+16% - 939,000 vs. 809,000). In fact, despite airing a repeat telecast on Friday, "JKL" topped a week of all original episodes of "Letterman" for the 2nd week in a row among young adults. Friday's repeat telecast of "JKL" outperformed an original telecast of "Letterman" by 10% in Adults 18-49 (843,000 vs. 768,000).
