ABC claimed the week's #1 biggest broadcast gainer in TV playback among Adults 18-49 and 3 of the Top 5, with Modern Family (+2.1 rating points) - #1, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (+1.5 rating points) - #3 and Castle (+1.3 rating points) - #5. Castle (+4.7 million) - #3 and Modern Family (+4.5 million) - #4 also finished among the week's Top 5 biggest overall gainers on the broadcast nets.

Nashville returned to originals for the first time in 5 weeks and scored its 2nd-largest playback increase ever, improving its L+SD Adult 18-49 rating by 92% to make Nashville the week's biggest percentage gainer among Adults 18-49 on the major networks. Growing to a 2.5 rating in the final L+7 numbers, Nashville returned up from its last original telecast (in the first-reported L+SD data, Nashville was within 1-tenth of rating point of its last original).

The Middle scored a season-best in TV playback among young adults (+33%), while week 2 of The Bachelor posted a larger playback increase than its week-earlier premiere (+30% vs. 22%).

The Goldbergs and Last Man Standing both matched their highest playback increases this season, growing a full rating point and 7-tenths of a rating point, respectively, over their L+SD numbers.

In the final Live + 7 Day ratings, ABC's Modern Family (5.3 rating) moved ahead of Fox's Thursday premiere of American Idol (4.8 rating) to finish among the week's Top 3 broadcast series among Adults 18-49. In addition, S.H.I.E.L.D. shot up to the week's Top 10 highest-rated broadcast series with young adults (3.7 rating), ranking #9 versus #13 in the initial Live + Same Day numbers.

Season-to-Date TV Playback (9/23/13-1/19/14):

Based on TV playback data for the 2013-14 season, ABC claims the most Top 10 playback gainers among Adults 18-49 of any broadcast network: Modern Family (+2.0 rating points), Grey's Anatomy (+1.8 rating points), Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (+1.7 rating points), Scandal (+1.5 rating points) and Castle (+1.3 rating points). ABC owns 4 of the 10 biggest overall gainers on the broadcast networks (tied with CBS): Castle (+4.4 million), Modern Family (+4.2 million), Grey's (+4.0 million) and Scandal (+3.9 million).

Nearly all of ABC's key returning series are seeing bigger percentage gains among Adults 18-49 from L+SD to L+7 this year than last: Castle (+65% vs. +50%), Dancing with the Stars (+20% vs. +18%), Grey's Anatomy (+64% vs. +52%), Last Man Standing (+46% vs. +40%), Modern Family (+54% vs. +49%), Nashville (+75% vs. +55%), The Neighbors (+30% vs. +16%), Once Upon a Time (+55% vs. +41%), Revenge (+63% vs. +48%), Scandal (+48% vs. +41%) and Shark Tank (+37% vs. +21%).

· Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is Tuesday's #1 scripted show this season with Adults 18-49 based on original telecasts, beating CBS' NCIS by 7% (4.4 rating vs. 4.1 rating). Based on first-run telecasts in the L+7 Adult 18-49 ratings, ABC claims the season's #1 scripted show on Tuesday (S.H.I.E.L.D. - 4.4 rating), the #1 show on Wednesday (Modern Family - 5.7), the #2 scripted show on Thursday (Grey's and Scandal tie - 4.6) and the #1 show on Friday (tied with NBC's Grimm - 2.6).

· Modern Family is the season's #2 scripted series among Adults 18-49 on the broadcast networks (5.7 rating).
