Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC, Winter Games Keep Win Streak Going

Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (2/20/14):

NBC (19.925 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 4.9, #1) was the top draw once again on Thursday with its primetime portion of the "2014 Olympic Winter Games" (19.925 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 4.9, #1).

FOX (6.605 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2) then had to settle for second place with new episodes of "American Idol" (9.193 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.4, #3) and "Rake" (4.017 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #8).

Next up was CBS (6.625 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #3) and its all-repeat lineup of "The Big Bang Theory" (10.058 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.6, #2), "Mom" (7.161 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.8, #4), "Two and a Half Men" (6.513 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.6, #5), "The Millers" (5.389 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T6) and "Elementary" (5.316 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T6).

Meanwhile, ABC (2.952 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #4) served up the season finale of "The Taste" (3.158 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #9) alongside a repeat of "Scandal" (2.541 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #10).

And finally, repeats of "The Originals" (0.908 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T11) and "Reign" (0.723 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T11) on The CW (0.815 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Originals" delivered a 0.1 rating at 8:00/7:00c and "Reign" a 0.2 rating at 9:00/8:00c.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "Tonight," 2.4/12 at midnight; "Late Show," 0.4/2, and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.


Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (2/21/13):

FOX (13.504 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.9, #1) pulled into the top spot on Thursday with a special two-hour "American Idol" (13.504 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 3.9, #T2).

CBS (13.522 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.3, #2) then had to settle for second place despite originals from "The Big Bang Theory" (17.337 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 5.4, #1), "Two and a Half Men" (13.442 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 3.9, #T2), "Person of Interest" (14.129 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.9, #5) and "Elementary" (11.046 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.3, #7).

Next up was ABC (7.161 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.2, #3) with week two of "Zero Hour" (5.322 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T11) followed by new episodes of "Grey's Anatomy" (8.543 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 3.0, #4) and "Scandal" (7.617 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.7, #6).

Meanwhile, NBC (3.173 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #4) offered up its mix of "Community" (3.078 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T11), "Parks & Recreation" (3.029 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T9), a second "Parks & Recreation" (2.910 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.4, #8), "1600 Penn" (2.303 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 1.0, #14) and a repeat of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (3.859 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T11).

And finally, new episodes of "The Vampire Diaries" (2.887 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T9) and "Beauty and the Beast" (1.558 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.6, #15) on The CW (2.223 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #5) closed out the evening. * At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/4 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
