TNT's winter launches of the hit series Rizzoli & Isles and Dallas ranked among basic cable's Top 6 original dramas for the week, based on Live + Same Day delivery.
Tuesday's winter premiere of Rizzoli & Isles has grown to more than 5.4 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery, a +5% boost over last season's winter premiere (Nov. 27. 2012). Among key demos, Tuesday's episode has garnered 1.9 million adults 25-54 and 1.5 million adults 18-49 in Live + 3.
Last Monday's season three premiere of TNT's Dallas has grabbed 3.5 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery. The premiere showed gains over last year's season two launch (Jan. 28, 2013) in key demos, delivering 1.6 million adults 25-54 (+2%) and 1.4 million adults 18-49 (+6%) in Live + 3.
TNT's Perception kicked off its winter run with 3.3 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery, including 1.3 million adults 25-54 and 1.0 million adults 18-49.
TNT's real-life crime series Cold Justice garnered 1.3 million viewers in Live + Same Day delivery Friday night, with 497,000 adults 25-54 and 409,000 adults 18-49. For the season-to-date, the show has grown +4% among adults 25-54 and +18% among adults 18-49 compared to season one.
On the sports front, TNT's exclusive NBA coverage of the New York Knicks vs. Miami Heat on Thursday, Feb. 20, averaged 2.7 million total viewers and a 1.8 U.S. household rating to win the night across all of cable among total viewers, households and all key demos. The telecast grew by +112% among total viewers and +100% in U.S. household rating over last year's comparable telecast (Philadelphia vs. Chicago).
Adult Swim
For the first week of March, Adult Swim's average Total Day Delivery performance ranked #1 on all basic cable among adults 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49 and men 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49.
Saturday night's TOONAMI block of exclusive animé entertainment proved popular among fans: Blue Exorcist (1:30 a.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among adults 18-24 & 18-34 and all targeted male demos. Bleach (12 a.m.), Naruto (12:30 a.m.), and Soul Eater (2 a.m.) all ranked #1 in their respective timeslots among adults 18-34 and men 18-34 & 18-49. Space Dandy (11:30 p.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among adults 18-34 and men 18-34. Soul Eater grew year-over-year among adults and men 18-34 & 18-49, ranging between 21% and 47%.
Adult Swim programming-including Family Guy, American Dad and Robot Chicken-accounted for 19 of the top 50 telecasts on basic cable for the week among adults 18-34, and 21 of the top 50 with men 18-34, both more than any other network.
Cartoon Network
Across the first week of March 2014, Cartoon Network ranked as the #1 television network among boys 6-11 & 9-14 on Monday Night (7-9 p.m.). A new episode of the original animated series Steven Universe (8 p.m.), which featured guest star singer-songwriter Aimee Man, ranked as the #1 telecast of the day among boys 6-11 & 9-14, and #1 in its timeslot among kids 6-11 and all targeted boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14. Additionally, original series Adventure Time (7 p.m.) ranked #1 in its timeslot among boys 6-11 & 9-14, while Emmy-winning original series Regular Show (7:30p) ranked #1 in its timeslot among all boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14.
On Tuesday night (7-9 p.m.), Cartoon Network also ranked as the #1 television network among boys 9-14, increasing average delivery of all targeted kids and boys demos vs. last year between 6% and 43%. Original animated series Uncle Grandpa (8 p.m.) stood as the #1 telecast of the day among boys 6-11, and #1 in its time period with all boy demos. Johnny Test (7:30 p.m.) also ranked #1 in its timeslot with all boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14. Both premiere episodes earned delivery gains across all targeted kids and boys vs. last year, ranging between 5% and 59%.
For the third night of the week, Cartoon Network claimed the #1 television network among boys 6-11 & 9-14 (Wednesday, 7-9 p.m.), earning double-digit delivery growth across the board-kids 2-11 up by 44%, kids 6-11 by 32% and kids 9-14 by 20%. Among the standouts, a new episode premiere of Teen Titans Go! (7:30 p.m.) ranked #1 for the day among boys 6-11 & 9-14, and #1 in its timeslot among kids 6-11 and all boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14. The 8 p.m. new episode premiere of Dreamworks Dragons: Defenders of Berk landed #1 in its time period among all targeted boy demos. Both new episodes grew average delivery by double-digits across all kids and boys vs. the same time periods last year, ranging between 17% and 68%.
Friday Night's average early prime delivery (7-9 p.m.) increased among kids 2-11 by 1%, boys 2-11 by 4%, and boys 6-11 by 1% vs. the same time period last year.
Saturday Morning's new episode premiere of Pokémon The Series XY (Saturday, 8:30 a.m.) ranked as the #1 telecast of the day among boys 9-14, with delivery growing among kids 9-14 by 6% vs. last year.

TBS's Men at Work has scored its biggest Live + 3 audience so far this season, garnering 1.9 million viewers for Wednesday's episode (+13% vs. the prior week). In key demos, the episode drew 1.0 million adults 18-49 (+4% vs. the prior week) and 517,000 adults 18-34 (+21% vs. the prior week).
TBS's geeky competition series King of the Nerds garnered remarkable growth last week, drawing 1.4 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery (+12% vs. the prior week) for last Thursday's episode. Among key demos, the show delivered 958,000 adults 18-49 (+9% vs. the prior week) and 489,000 adults 18-34 (+20%).
TBS's original sitcom Cougar Town garnered 1.6 million viewers in Live + 3 viewing for last Tuesday's episode, including 1.0 million adults 18-49 and 472,000 adults 18-34.
TBS's run of The Big Bang Theory continues to dominate the competition, last week accounting for 14 of basic cable's Top 15 off-net sitcom telecasts among total viewers and adults 18-49.
