UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - May 20, 2014 - With "The Voice" and "The Blacklist" accounting for three of the week's top 10 ratings in adults 18-49 among primetime programs on the Big 4 networks, NBC has averaged a 1.4 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 5.4 million viewers overall for the week of May 12-18, according to "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

The Monday edition of "The Voice" tied for the #4 adult 18-49 rating for the week on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox, while "The Blacklist" and the Tuesday "Voice" tied for #6.

With the conclusion of Week 34, three nights remain in the 2013-14 primetime season, which NBC will win with a 2.7 rating in adults 18-49, a four-year high for the network and +13% versus last year's 2.4 (see separate release). It's NBC's first 18-49 win in the traditional September-to-May season in 10 years.

Primetime averages for the week of May 12-18 in adults 18-49 are: ABC, 1.8/6; CBS, 1.5/5; NBC, 1.4/5; Fox, 1.2/4; and CW, 0.6/2. In overall total viewers, the weekly averages were: CBS, 8.2 million; ABC, 7.2 million; NBC, 5.4 million; Fox, 4.2 million; and CW, 1.4 million.

Season-to-date averages are: NBC, 2.7/8; Fox, 2.5/7; CBS, 2.4/7; ABC, 2.1/6; and CW, 0.8/2. In overall total viewers, the season averages are: CBS, 10.7 million; NBC, 9.3 million; ABC, 7.6 million; Fox, 7.4 million; and CW, 1.9 million.

May Sweep: Primetime averages for 25 of 28 nights in Nielsen's May Sweep in adults 18-49 are: ABC, a 1.6 rating; CBS, 1.5; NBC, 1.4; Fox, 1.3; and CW, 0.6. In overall total viewers, the weekly averages were: CBS, 8.4 million; ABC, 6.5 million; NBC, 5.3 million; Fox, 4.3 million; and CW, 1.4 million.

NBC highlights for the week of May 12-18:

Monday: NBC won the night in adults 18-49 and all other key demos, taking six of six half-hours in adults 18-49 with the #1 and #2 shows of the night, "The Voice" and "The Blacklist."

"The Voice" (3.0 rating, 9 share in adults 18-49, 11.1 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) equaled its highest 18-49 rating in four weeks (since April 14), retaining 100% of its rating for each of the prior three Mondays in adults 18-49 to remain the #1 show of the night in 18-49 and other key demos. "The Voice" won its two-hour time slot by a +30% margin among the Big 4 (3.0 vs. 2.3 for ABC's "Dancing With the Stars"). From its first half-hour to its fourth, "The Voice" grew by +14% or 0.4 of a rating point in adults 18-49 (to a 3.2 from a 2.8).

"The Blacklist" (2.6/7 in adults 18-49, 10.4 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) was the #2 show of the night in 18-49 on the Big 4, behind only "The Voice." The final eight "Blacklist" originals this season have all rated in the 2.6-2.8 range in 18-49. L+7 Time-Shifting: "Blacklist" originals this season are growing by +69% from their L+SD results to L+7 in 18-49 rating (to a 4.91 from a 2.91) and by more than 6.1 million persons in total viewers (17.0 million vs. 10.8 million).

Tuesday: "The Voice" (2.6/9 in 18-49, 11.0 million viewers overall from 8-9:01 p.m. ET) tied for the #1 rating of the night in adults 18-49 and was #1 for the night among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-34, women 18-34, women 18-49 and women 25-54. Week to week, "The Voice" was up +4% in 18-49 (with a 2.6 rating vs. a 2.5) and up +2% in total viewers (11.0 million vs. 10.7 million).

With 1.92 million Tweets, the May 13 episode of "The Voice" as the most tweeted series episode across broadcast and cable since Nielsen began tracking Twitter television activity in October, 2011.

"About a Boy" (1.6/5 in 18-49, 6.4 million viewers overall from 9:01-9:31 p.m. ET) grew +7% week to week in adults 18-49, to match its high in three weeks (since April 22), and was up +6% in total viewers (6.418 million vs. 6.044 million) to a three-week high.

A second telecast of "About a Boy" (1.5/4 in 18-49, 5.7 million viewers overall from 9:31-10 p.m. ET) retained 94% of its 18-49 lead-in from the prior "Boy." The 9:31 "About a Boy" equaled NBC's top 18-49 rating in the half-hour since April 1.

The season finale of "Chicago Fire" (1.9/6 in 18-49, 7.1 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) equaled its highest adult 18-49 rating since Jan. 7 and delivered it biggest overall audience since March 11. "Chicago Fire" has now matched or improved on its prior rating with its last three first-run telecasts. "Chicago Fire" tied for #1 in the 10 p.m. hour in adults 18-49 among ABC, CBS and NBC and pulled ahead into first place outright among those nets from 10:30-11. Versus its year-ago season finale, "Chicago Fire" was up +12% in adults 18-49 (1.9 vs. 1.7) and up +16% in total viewers (7.1 million vs. 6.1 million).

Wednesday: "Revolution" (1.2/4 in adults 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) grew week to week by +9% in 18-49 (to a 1.2 rating from a 1.1) and +4% in total viewers (3.9 million vs. 3.8 million). L+7 Time-Shifting: In originals this season, "Revolution" is increasing by an average of +65% from its L+SD result to L+7 in 18-49 rating (to a 2.33 from a 1.41) and growing by 2.3 million persons in total viewers (7.4 million vs. 5.1 million).

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.6/5 in adults 18-49, 5.4 million viewers overall from 9-10:01 p.m. ET) was up versus the prior week's 1.5 in adults 18-49 by +7%. "SVU" built on its lead-in by +33% in adults 18-49 and +39% in total viewers. L+7 Time-Shifting: "SVU" originals grow by an average +55% from its L+SD result to L+7 in 18-49 rating (to a 2.82 from a 1.82) and increase by 2.6 million persons in total viewers (9.4 million vs. 6.8 million).

"Chicago P.D." (1.5/5 in 18-49, 6.1 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) grew +7% week to week in adults 18-49 (to a 1.5 rating from a 1.4) and +12% in total viewers (6.1 million vs. 5.4 million). "Chicago P.D." won the 10 p.m. hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, as well as adults, men and women 18-34 and women 18-49. L+7 Time-Shifting: "Chicago P.D." originals grow by an average +60% from its L+SD result to L+7 in 18-49 rating (to a 2.70 from a 1.69) and increase by more than 3.0 million persons in total viewers (9.6 million vs. 6.5 million).

Thursday: "Hollywood Game Night" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 3.7 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) jumped week to week by +22% in adults 18-49(to a 1.1 rating from a 0.9) and +17% in total viewers (3.722million vs. 3.176 million) to match the show's highest 18-49 rating since Feb. 27 and delivered its biggest overall audience since March 27. "Hollywood Game Night" generated NBC's second-best 18-49 and total-viewer results in the time period since March 27, trailing over that span only the May 1 "iHeart Radio Music Awards."

Night 2 of "Rosemary's Baby" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 3.3 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET) grew substantially from its first half-hour to its fourth, by +38% in adults 18-49 (to a 1.1 rating from a 0.8) and by +31% in total viewers (3.7 million vs. 2.8 million). For its second hour from 10-11 p.m. ET, "Rosemary's Baby" tied for #2 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and finished within 0.3 of a rating point of #1 among those nets (1.1 vs. 1.4 for CBS's "Elementary" season finale).

Friday: "Dateline NBC" (1.3/5 in 18-49, 6.8 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) reported its 2highest results since March 28 in adults 18-49 and total viewers. "Dateline" ranked #1 in the time period versus the Big 4 nets in total viewers. "Dateline" was up week to week by +8% in 18-49 (to a 1.3 rating from a 1.2) and up +21% or 1.2 million persons in total viewers (6.8 million vs. 5.6 million).

"Grimm" (1.3/5 in 18-49, 5.3 million viewers overall from 9-10:01 p.m. ET) matched its highest rating since April 4 and delivered its iggest overall audience since March 21. In the time period, the "Grimm" season finale ranked #1 in men 18-49 (with a 1.2 rating) and men 25-54 (1.7). L+7 Time-Shifting: "Grimm" originals are growing this season by +82% going from their L+SD results to L+7 in 18-49 rating (to a 2.57 from a 1.41) and by 2.9 million persons in total viewers (8.3 million vs. 5.4 million).

"Hannibal" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 2.3 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) jumped by +29% or 0.2 of a point week to week in adults 18-49 (to a 0.9 rating from a 0.7) and by +19% in total viewers (2.3 million vs. 1.9 million). "Hannibal" equaled its highest 18-49 rating since March 28 and generated its biggest overall audience since April 25. L+7 Time -Shifting: "Hannibal" first-runs are increasing this season by +69% from its L+SD result to L+7 in 18-49 rating (to a 1.47 from a 0.87) and increasing by 1.3 million persons in total viewers (3.9 million vs. 2.6 million).

Saturday: NBC ranked #1 among the Big 4 networks in primetime Saturday night in adults 18-49 and total viewers, leading six of six half-hours among those nets in 18-49 with the #1 and #2 primetime shows of the night on those nets in 18-49, the 10 p.m. encore of "Saturday Night Live" and "Dateline Saturday Night Mystery."

"Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" (0.9/4 in 18-49, 5.0 million viewers overall) matched NBC's highest adult 18-49 rating in the slot, excluding sports in 20 months (since Sept. 15, 2012, growing week to week by +29% in adults 18-49 (to a 0.9 from a 0.7) and +26% or more than 1.0 million persons in total viewers (5.0 million vs. 3.9 million). From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" grew by +100% in adults 18-49 (to a 1.2 rating from a 0.6) and by +49% or 1.9 million persons in total viewers (5.9 million vs. 4.0 million).

A rebroadcast of "Saturday Night Live" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 2.9 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET), with host Jimmy Fallon and musical guest Justin Timberlake, delivered highs for an "SNL" rebroadcast in this time period since Feb. 1 in both 18-49 rating and total viewers. Week to week, the 10 p.m. "SNL" encore is up +25% in 18-49 rating (to a 1.0 from a 0.8) and up +17% in total viewers (3.271 million vs. 2.791 million).

Sunday: The NBC Special "Coldplay: Ghost Stories" delivered a 0.4/2 in adults 18-49 and 1.6 million viewers overall from 7-8 p.m. ET.

"American Dream Builders" averaged a 0.5/1 in 18-49 and 1.8 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET. "American Dream Builders" grew from its first half-hour to its second by +25% or a tenth of a rating point in adults 18-49 (to a 0.5 from a 0.4) and by +21% in total viewers (1.9 million vs. 1.6 million).

An encore telecast of "The Women of SNL" delivered a 0.8/2 in 18-49 and 2.5 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET, building from its first half-hour to its fourth by +50% in adults 18-49 (to a 0.9 rating from a 0.6) and by +24% in total viewers (2.7 million vs. 2.2 million). "The Women of SNL" built on its lead-in by +60% in adults 18-49 and +43 in total viewers.
