An encore broadcast of 48 HOURS: "Relentless" was Saturday's #1 primetime program with viewers and adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for June 21, 2014.

48 HOURS: "Relentless" (R) (10:00-11:00 PM) averaged 5.22 million viewers, a 1.3/04 with adults 25-54 (1.3/04) and a 0.8/03 with adults 18-49. Compared to the same night last year, 48 HOURS was up +8% in adults 25-54, +22% in viewers and even in adults 18-49.

"Relentless" was part of Saturday night 48 HOURS double feature. At 9:00 PM, an encore of 48 HOURS: "The Perfect Family" was first with adults 25-54 (1.0/04), viewers (4.22m) and adults 18-49 (0.7/03). Compared to the same night last year, 48 HOURS was up +25% in adults 25-54, +40% in adults 18-49 and +35% in viewers. 48 HOURS: "The Perfect Family" was Saturday's #2 program in viewers.

"Relentless" featured Peter Van Sant and 48 HOURS investigation into the murder of Nicole Pietz, and her mother's campaign to wage psychological warfare on her daughter's alleged killer. Nicole Pietz disappeared in January 2006. Her husband, David Pietz, reported her missing. Nine days later, Nicole's body was found in a wooded field near the Seattle airport. Police had few clues and the case eventually went cold. But Nicole's mother, Gael Schneider never let go and began tormenting David Pietz in an effort to get him to confess. Six years after Nicole was found dead, David was arrested for her murder.

"The Perfect Family" featured Tracy Smith's report on the investigation into the murder of Ruth Pyne, who was murdered in 2011. Pyne was the matriarch of a seemingly all-American family living outside of Detroit, but, after she was stabbed and beaten, police investigating Ruth's death revealed life wasn't so perfect. Five months into the investigation, Pyne's son Jeffrey was charged with murder.
