"Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" Is the #1 Big 4 Telecast of the Night in Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers
NBC spins the numbers for Friday, July 4.

Friday Results:

NBC won Friday night among the Big 4 nets by a +43% margin in adults 18-49 (with a 1.0 rating vs. a 0.7 for second-place ABC) and by a +48% margin in total viewers (5.0 million vs. 3.4 million for ABC and CBS).

NBC led those networks all key measures with the #1 and #2 shows of the night in 18-49, the 8-10 p.m. ""Macy's 4th of July Fireworks(R) Spectacular" and the 10-11 p.m. "Marcy's" recap.

· "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" (1.1/6 in 18-49, 5.3 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) Is the #1 Big 4 telecast of the night in adults 18-49 and total viewers and won that time period versus those nets in every key ratings measure..

· "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" is up +18% in 18-49 rating comparing last night's second-hour result from 9-10 p.m. (1.3/7 for that hour) to the rating for its prior Friday telecast (1.1 for its one hour from 9-10 on Friday, July 4, 2008)and is up +20% in total viewers (6.5 million from 9-10 vs. 5.4 million in 2008).

· "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" grew by+114% from its first half-hour to its fourth in 18-49 (to a 1.5 from a 0.7) and by+91% or more than 3.6 million persons in total viewers (7.7 million vs. 4.1 million)

· Though last year's coverage ran on Thursday, which typically has higher usage levels than Friday nights (the year-ago July 4 primetime HUT level was 45.2 and this year's was 41.7), this year's telecast is currently running within 0.4 of a point of last year's telecast (1.5/7 in 18-49, 7.2 million viewers overall from 8-10 on Thursday, July 4, 2013).

· The annual special, hosted by Nick Cannon of "America's Got Talent," featured performances by Hunter Hayes and Miranda Lambert, Ariana Grande, Lionel Richie, Enrique Iglesias and Zac Brown Band. The two-hour special was hosted by Nick Cannon of NBC's "America's Got Talent.".

· From 10-11 p.m. ET, a recap telecast of "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" (0.9/4 in 18-49, 4.4 million viewers overall) ranked #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key categories. The 10 p.m. "Macy's" encore trails only the 8-10 p.m. original among the night's primetime telecasts on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in 18-49.

· Despite the 10 p.m. hour, the 10-11 p.m. "Macy's" recap was up by +13%from half-hour to half-hour in both adults 18-49 (to a 0.9 from a 0.8) and total viewers (4.7 million vs. 4.1 million) and grew by +20% in adults 25-54 (1.2 vs. 1.0).

In Late-Night Metered Markets Friday night:

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.0/5 with an encore telecast; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 1.6/4 with an encore; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.7/4 with an encore.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/3 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.3/1 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.0/3 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (0.9/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1 with an encore).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/2 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
