Sunday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS Tops Viewers, Demos with "Big Brother"

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (8/31/14):

CBS (5.879 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #1) scored top honors on Sunday with its mix of "60 Minutes" (7.129 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T6), "Big Brother 16" (5.906 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1), "Unforgettable" (6.035 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #2) and "Reckless" (4.446 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #5).

The silver then went to FOX (1.548 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #2) with repeats of "Bob's Burgers" (0.841 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.3, #14), another "Bob's Burgers" (0.944 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.4, #13), "The Simpsons" (1.509 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T8), another "The Simpsons" (1.677 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T6), "Family Guy" (2.206 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T3) and another "Family Guy" (2.109 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T3).

Next up was NBC (2.426 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.5, #3) with encores of "American Ninja Warrior" (2.347 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T8) and "America's Got Talent" (2.505 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.5, #12).

And finally, ABC (2.150 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.4, #4) closed out the evening with a repeat of "America's Funniest Home Videos" (3.730 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T8), a new "Wipeout" (2.387 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T8) and its coverage of the "MDA Show of Strength Telethon" (1.242 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.2, #15).

FOX (2.128 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #2) then claimed the silver with its repeat lineup of "American Dad" (1.276 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T12), "The Simpsons" (1.779 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.7, #11), another "The Simpsons" (2.524 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T4), "Bob's Burgers" (2.042 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T8), "Family Guy" (2.525 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2) and another "Family Guy" (2.621 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2).

Next up was NBC (3.148 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.7, #3) with a rebroadcast of "America's Got Talent" (2.315 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T12) followed by the two-hour special "TV's Funniest of the Funniest: A Paley Center for Media Special" (3.981 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #7).

And finally, ABC (2.190 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.4, #4) closed out the evening with its combination of "The Chew Presents ABC's Primetime Fall Preview Special" (2.337 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #14), "Secret Millionaire" (3.754 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T8) and "MDA Show of Strength Telethon" (1.336 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #15).
