"State of Affairs" Is NBC's Second Highest Rated Drama Debut in More Than Two Years
NBC spins the numbers for Monday, November 17.

[via press release from NBC]

Monday Results (Note ABC carried NFL football in Pittsburgh and Nashville):

NBC ranked #1 for the night among the Big 4 in adults 18-49, taking six of six half-hours among those nets with "The Voice" and the "State of Affairs" debut.

· "The Voice" (3.0/8 in 18-49, 10.8 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) ranked as the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 in adults 18-49, as well as adults 18-34 and adults 25-54.

· In the time period, "The Voice" ranked #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in every key demographic (including a tie with ABC in women 25-54).

· "The Voice" matched its comparable telecast from the spring cycle in adult 18-49 rating (3.0/9 on April 28).

· The debut of "State of Affairs" (2.2/7 in 18-49, 8.6 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) won the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, topping "Castle" by +10% (2.2 vs. 2.0, note that ABC carried the NFL in two markets and ratings may be adjusted downward) and "NCIS: LA" by +29% (2.2 vs. 1.7).

· This is NBC's second highest rated drama debut in more than two years (excluding special previews), since "Revolution" on Sept. 17, 2012, trailing over that span only the Sept. 23, 2013 premiere of "The Blacklist."

· "State of Affairs" retained 73% of its lead-in from the 9:30 half-hour of "Voice" (3.0). That's up from 69% during the 4Q of 2013 for the first season of "The Blacklist."

· From its first half-hour to its second, "State of Affairs" retained 91% of its 18-49 rating (from a 2.3 to a 2.1), despite the 10 p.m. hour.
