2014 "Thursday Night Football" Season on CBS and NFL Network Earns Overnight Ratings Increase of 45% Over Last Year

2014 "THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL" SEASON ON CBS AND NFL NETWORK EARNS OVERNIGHT RATINGS INCREASE OF 45% OVER LAST YEAR

Special Saturday Doubleheader Earns 3rd Highest Overnight of Season on NFL Network for Washington-Philadelphia; CBS and NFL Network Win Saturday Night with San Diego Comeback Thriller Against San Francisco

For the 16 games of the 2014 schedule, THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL on CBS and NFL Network (and over-the air stations) is up 45% in the metered markets compared to last year's games on NFL Network and the over-the-air stations in participating markets. For the 16 games this season, CBS and NFL Network averaged an 8.4/14 rating/share versus a 5.8/10 for the 13 games in 2013 on NFL Network.

The Philadelphia-Washington game on NFL Network and over-the-air stations earned an average overnight household rating/share of 6.1/13, the third highest Metered Market average for games on NFL Network and over-the-air stations this season. (12/4 Dallas-Chicago (8.0) & 11/6 Cleveland-Cincinnati (6.7)

The San Diego-San Francisco game on CBS and NFL Network earned an average overnight household rating/share of 8.9/16 in the 56 metered markets.

Saturday's special edition doubleheader of THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL featured Washington beating Philadelphia 27-24 on NFL Network and over-the-air stations (4:30-7:45 PM, ET) followed by San Diego's 38-35 overtime win over San Francisco (8:30-12:15 PM, ET) on CBS and NFL Network.

Last night's programming on CBS and NFL Network from 8:00-11:00 PM, ET averaged a primetime overnight HH rating/share of 8.5/15, +240% higher than last year's overnight HH rating/share of 2.5/5 for CBS primetime programming on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 (COMEDY TIME SATURDAY - 8:00 PM, COMEDY TIME SATURDAY- 8:30 PM, CRIMETIME SATURDAY - 9:00 PM, 48 HOURS - 10:00 PM).

CBS/NFL Network's rating/share of 8.5/15 in primetime beat each of the broadcast networks: +750% higher than FOX (1.0/2), +554% higher than NBC (1.3/2) and +347% higher than ABC (1.9/3). CBS/NFL Network's rating/share was +102% higher than FOX, NBC and ABC combined.

Last night's San Diego-San Francisco game HH rating/share peaked at 9.8/21 from 12:00-12:15 PM, ET.
