Monday's Broadcast Ratings: "The Voice" Continues Demo Reign for NBC

Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (3/23/15):

NBC (9.849 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.7, #1) was still the network to beat on Monday with fresh installments from "The Voice" (11.882 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.3, #1) and "The Night Shift" (5.782 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T6).

ABC (11.856 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T2) then claimed the silver with new episodes of "Dancing with the Stars" (13.680 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.0, #T2) and "Castle" (8.209 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.4, #8).

Sharing second place honors was CBS (8.796 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T2) and its mix of "2 Broke Girls" (7.328 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.9, #4), "Mike & Molly" (7.799 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.8, #5), "Scorpion" (9.571 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.0, #T2) and "NCIS: Los Angeles" (9.253 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T6).

Meanwhile, FOX (3.803 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #4) offered up a new "The Following" (3.891 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T9) and a second hour of "The Following" (3.715 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T9).

And finally, repeats of "The Originals" (0.954 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T11) and "Jane the Virgin" (0.815 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T11) on The CW (0.885 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), the former delivered a 0.3 rating while the latter posted a 0.2 rating.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.0/5; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.7/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/5 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.2/4 in metered-market households) trailed CBS's "Late Late Show with James Corden" (1.4/5). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.4/2).

· Note that "Late Night" finished within a tenth of its Monday season average in metered-market households (1.2 vs. 1.3) and matched its season average in 18-49 in the LPMs (0.5 vs. 0.5).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (3/24/14):

NBC (12.107 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.4, #1) was the network to beat on Monday thanks to new episodes of "The Voice" (12.645 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.6, #1) and "The Blacklist" (11.030 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.9, #3).

ABC (12.754 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #2) then snagged the silver with originals from "Dancing with the Stars" (14.251 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.2, #5) and "Castle" (9.760 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.7, #8).

Next up was CBS (6.914 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.0, #3) and its mix of "How I Met Your Mother" (9.059 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 3.4, #2), "2 Broke Girls" (7.333 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 2.3, #4), "Mike & Molly" (7.812 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.0, #6), "Mom" (7.363 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.9, #7) and "Intelligence" (4.958 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.2, #11).

Meanwhile, FOX (4.953 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.4, #4) offered up fresh installments of "Bones" (5.729 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T9) and "The Following" (4.178 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T9).

And finally, new episodes of "Star-Crossed" (0.943 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T12) and "The Tomorrow People" (0.797 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T12) closed out the night on The CW (0.870 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5).
