Friday's Broadcast Ratings: Originals Return on Top for CBS

Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (4/3/15):

CBS (8.579 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #1) was still the network to beat on Friday with its trio of "The Amazing Race" (6.141 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T2), "Hawaii Five-0" (8.929 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T2) and "Blue Bloods" (10.667 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #1).

NBC (5.408 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #2) then was a close second with originals from "Grimm" (4.520 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7) and "Dateline NBC" (5.853 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T2).

Next up was ABC (4.922 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3) and fresh installments of "Last Man Standing" (6.467 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T2) and "Cristela" (5.475 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7) followed by a repeat "Shark Tank" (5.034 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #6) and a new "20/20" (3.763 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #9).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.894 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) offered up the feature "21 Jump Street" (1.894 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #10).

And finally, repeats of "Here Comes Peter Cottontail" (1.299 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T11), "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.096 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T11) and another "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.162 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T11) on The CW (1.214 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), said trio posted a 0.3, 0.2 and 0.3 rating, respectively.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.1/5; "Late Show," 0.3/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.4/4 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with James Corden" (1.1/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show with James Corden " (0.2/2 with an encore).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with Local People Meters.


Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (4/4/14):

ABC (6.193 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #1) was the top demo draw on Friday with its mix of "Last Man Standing" (6.173 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T4), "The Neighbors" (3.941 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #9), "Shark Tank" (7.191 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1) and "20/20" (6.332 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T2).

CBS (9.473 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) then was the most-watched network with the return of "Unforgettable" (7.497 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #8) followed by new episodes of "Hawaii Five-0" (9.522 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T4) and "Blue Bloods" (11.401 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T2).

Next up was NBC (4.452 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) with originals from "Dateline NBC" (6.150 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.2, #7), "Grimm" (4.883 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T4) and "Hannibal" (2.324 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #10).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.757 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) served up a repeat of "Kitchen Nightmares" (1.933 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.7, #11) alongside a new "Raising Hope" (1.612 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T12) and the series finale of "Raising Hope" (1.549 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T12).

And finally, a new "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.535 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T14), a repeat "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.374 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T14) and a new "Hart of Dixie" (0.766 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.3, #16) on The CW (1.110 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the evening.
