THE 28TH SEASON PREMIERE OF "48 HOURS" AT 10:00 PM IS SATURDAY'S #1 PRIMETIME PROGRAM WITH VIEWERS AND THE NIGHT'S #1 NON-SPORTS BROADCAST WITH ADULTS 25-54 AND ADULTS 18-49

The 28th season premiere of CBS News' "48 HOURS: Hannah Graham: Deadly Connections" at 10:00 PM was Saturday's #1 primetime program with viewers, and the #1 non-sports broadcast with adults 25-54 and adults 18-49, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Sept. 26.

The 10:00 PM hour was part of a special two-part broadcast to launch the new season. At 10:00, 48 HOURS; regular time period, the broadcast was #1 with an audience of 5.25 million viewers and a 1.4/04 with adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news. The broadcast delivered a 0.9/03 with adults 18-49.

The 10:00 PM premiere, built on a special 9:00 PM 48 HOURS broadcast, which was #1 in the time period with viewers. The hour delivered 4.16 million viewers, a 1.1/04 with adults 25-54, and a 0.8/03 with adults 18-49.

"Hannah Graham: Deadly Connections" featured Susan Spencer and 48 HOURS' story of a bright, young college student with a promising future who went missing in Charlottesville, Virginia, and was ultimately murdered. Graham disappeared after a night out with friends. The search for her was the most exhaustive in Virginia history. And after her body was found, the investigation into her death, which generated national attention, led police to cases of other unsolved attacks against young women spanning a decade. Spencer and 48 HOURS also report on the life of Jesse Matthew, a man who was caught on surveillance cameras walking with Graham and is allegedly the last person to see her alive.

As part of the premiere broadcast, 48 HOURS has also launched "The Hannah Graham Story," a five-part podcast produced in conjunction with the premiere of a new primetime season. The podcasts are written by and anchored by WTOP radio's Neal Augenstein and available free for download at Play.it. For the 48 HOURS podcast "The Hannah Graham Story," Michael Vele is the producer/editor. Peter Schweitzer is the senior producer. Susan Zirinsky is the senior executive producer.
