"Monday Night Football" Helps ESPN Win the Night among All Networks

ESPN's Monday Night Football - a Carolina Panthers' 29-26 overtime victory over the Indianapolis Colts -helped ESPN win the night among all networks - broadcast or cable - in households, viewers and all key male and adult demos (18-34, 18-49 and 25-54). The game was the highest-rated program of the night in these same categories.

ESPN has won the night on all eight Mondays this MNF season among households and all key male and adult demos (and seven of eight Mondays among viewers).

Colts-Panthers averaged a 7.8 US household rating and 12,404,000 viewers (P2+), according to Nielsen. The game peaked from 9:45-10 p.m. ET with a 9.0 rating and 14,555,000 viewers.

In Indianapolis, the game delivered a 13.2 rating on ESPN and an 18.1 on WRTV-ABC, for a combined 31.3 rating in the market. In Charlotte, the game delivered a 12.5 rating on ESPN and a 20.1 on WSOC-ABC, for a combined 32.6 rating in the market.

The top 10 metered markets (not including those of the competing teams): Greensboro (20.2), Raleigh-Durham (14.6), New Orleans (13.5), Denver (13.3), Greenville (13.1), Birmingham (12.9), Norfolk (12.6), San Diego (11.8), Albuquerque-Santa Fe (11.2), and Seattle (11.1).

WatchESPN and ESPN Digital

Colts-Panthers logged the seventh-largest audience ever for MNF on WatchESPN attracting an additional 191,000 average minute impressions to the TV audience, up 32 percent compared to last year's Week 8 MNF game. It also had 602,000 unique viewers watching 47,881,000 live minutes - up 43 percent and 57 percent, respectively. The 47,881,000 minutes viewed are the most ever for a MNF game.

The 2015 NFL season continues to drive record-breaking traffic across ESPN Digital platforms, logging its sixth best day ever on Sunday, November 1, with an average minute audience of 1,098,000 people across platforms, up 21 percent compared to last year's Week 8 Sunday. Specifically, 43 percent of time spent with ESPN Digital properties on Sunday was with the ESPN Fantasy Football app, which attracted 6,526,000 unique visitors and an average minute audience of 470,000 - up 24 percent and 42 percent respectively compared to the previous year.

Additionally, ESPN.com, ESPN apps and WatchESPN across platforms logged 40,818,000 unique visitors on Sunday, up five percent. NFL content specifically across digital platforms peaked at an average of 2,655,000 users during the average minute. Of Sunday's total NFL audience on digital platforms, 84 percent came from mobile devices.

This week, Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers host Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego at 8:10 p.m. ET (kickoff at 8:30 p.m.).
