Monday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Holds Off Surging ABC in Demo Race

Here are the highlights of the 11 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (11/23/15):

NBC (9.121 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.3, #1) held off the competitive on Monday with a new "The Voice" (10.197 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.5, #1) and the fall finale of "Blindspot" (6.968 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.9, #3).

ABC (12.195 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #2) then was a close second with a new "Dancing with the Stars" (14.280 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.4, #2) and its fall finale of "Castle" (8.025 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T5).

Next up was CBS (7.914 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.5, #3) and its trio of "Supergirl" (7.191 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T5), "Scorpion" (8.869 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.7, #4) and "NCIS: Los Angeles" (7.682 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #8).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.801 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) offered up originals from "Gotham" (4.019 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.4, #7) and "Minority Report" (1.584 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #9).

And finally, new episodes of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" (0.914 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.3, #11) and "Jane the Virgin" (0.954 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #10) on The CW (0.934 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the night.

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 3.2/8; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 2.1/5; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.4/6.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.1/5; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.9/4.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.7/5 in metered-market households and a 0.6/4 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.6/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.0/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (11/24/14):

NBC (8.905 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.4, #1) held onto the demo crown on Monday thanks to a new "The Voice" (10.183 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.7, #1) and week two of "State of Affairs" (6.349 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T8).

ABC (13.505 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.3, #2) then was a close second with the penultimate night of "Dancing with the Stars" (14.800 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.4, #T2) and a new "Castle" (10.915 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.0, #T6).

Next up was CBS (9.266 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.1, #3) and its mix of "2 Broke Girls" (8.522 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.2, #5), a repeat "The Big Bang Theory" (7.822 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.0, #T6), "Scorpion" (10.450 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.4, #T2) and "NCIS: Los Angeles" (9.177 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T8).

Meanwhile, FOX (5.128 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.9, #4) served up the fall finale of "Gotham" (6.004 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 2.3, #4) and a new "Sleepy Hollow" (4.251 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.4, #10).

And finally, fresh installments of "The Originals" (1.274 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #11) and "Jane the Virgin" (1.052 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #12) on The CW (1.163 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), the "Originals" delivered a 0.7 rating while "Jane" posted a 0.5 rating.
