Growing +47% over its L+SD Adult 18-49 rating (1.9 rating), ABC's black-ish shot up a 2.8 rating after just 3 days of TV playback, up 12% over the prior week (2.5 rating) to deliver the show's highest-rated L+3 telecast in 7 weeks - since 1/6/16.
black-ish emerged as Wednesday's #2 program among Adults 18-49 in L+3 (behind only ABC's Modern Family), leapfrogging over Fox's American Idol to lead by 3-tenths of a rating point (2.8 rating vs. 2.5 rating) after trailing by 2-tenths in L+SD. The ABC sitcom ranked #1 in its 9:30pm half hour with Adults 18-49, increasing its lead over CBS' Criminal Minds to 2-tenths in L+3 (2.8 rating vs. 2.6 rating) versus 1-tenth in L+SD.
With a special episode covering police brutality, ABC's black-ish saw the highest number of tweets the series has ever earned, drawing 90,309 tweets - up +2541% from last week's episode (3,420 tweets).
ABC moved out of a tie with Fox in the L+SD numbers to rank as Wednesday's #1 network in L+3 among Adults 18-49 by 4% over its closest competitor (2.4 rating vs. 2.3 rating for CBS) and by 14% over Fox (2.1 rating).
