Sunday's Broadcast Ratings: ABC Wins Big with College Football Special

Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (9/4/16):

ABC (9.344 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.8, #1) surged to the top spot on Sunday with its special presentations of the "The ABC Fall Preview Special" (4.702 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) and "College Football: Notre Dame at Texas" (10.007 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.0, #1).

NBC (4.337 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #2) then was the number two draw with its coverage of "NASCAR Sprint Cup: Darlington" (4.337 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #4).

Next up was CBS (4.428 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #3) and its mix of "60 Minutes" (7.221 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5), "Big Brother 18" (5.219 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2), "Madam Secretary" (2.941 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T12) and "BrainDead" (2.333 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T12).

And finally, repeats of "The Simpsons" (1.085 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T9), "Bob's Burgers" (1.118 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T9), another "The Simpsons" (1.278 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T7), "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (1.198 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T7), "Family Guy" (1.403 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5) and "The Last Man on Earth" (1.053 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T9) on FOX (1.189 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #4) closed out the night.
