Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: "Speechless" Tops Tight Demo Race for ABC

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (1/18/17):

ABC (4.506 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T1) and FOX (5.125 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T1) shared in the demo honors as the former served up a special "Fresh Off the Boat" (5.480 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T2) followed by a new "Speechless" (5.361 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1), a repeat "Modern Family" (4.530 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.3, #7) and originals from "Black-ish" (4.620 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T2) and "Match Game" (3.524 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.0, #11).

The latter then offered up fresh installments of "Lethal Weapon" (6.249 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T5) and "Star" (4.001 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T8).

Next up was CBS (6.395 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T3) with a new "Undercover Boss" (5.862 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.1, #10) alongside "The 43rd Annual People's Choice Awards" (6.661 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T8).

Meanwhile, NBC (5.995 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T3) served up new episodes of "Blindspot" (4.666 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #12), "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (6.380 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T5) and "Chicago PD" (6.940 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T2).

And finally, a repeat "Arrow" (0.870 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T13) and the penultimate "Frequency" (0.783 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T13) closed out the night on The CW (0.826 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5).

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 0.9/3. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
