"BROCKMIRE" IS A GRAND SLAM FOR IFC

HIGHEST-RATED NEW SERIES IN IFC HISTORY CONCLUDES ACCLAIMED FIRST SEASON WEDNESDAY AT 10PM, PRECEDED BY A FULL-SEASON MARATHON

NEW YORK - May 15, 2017 - IFC's acclaimed new comedy Brockmire is wrapping up its rookie season as the highest-rated new series in IFC history and the most time-shifted new comedy on cable. Prior to the Season 1 finale at 10PM Wednesday, IFC will marathon the entire first season starting with the premiere episode at 6:30PM. Developed by Joel Church Cooper and produced by Funny Or Die, Brockmire stars Hank Azaria (The Simpsons), with Amanda Peet (Togetherness), and Tyrel Jackson Williams (Pants on Fire).

Since its debut, Brockmire has drawn nearly 8 million viewers in total in Nielsen live+3 ratings and nearly 1 million more in video on demand and TV Everywhere plays. On a weekly basis, the show's audience nearly doubles on average within three days, making it the most time-shifted new comedy on cable. Additionally, Brockmire is among the most social comedies on TV, consistently ranking on in the top 5 for social media interactions on premiere nights. The show is averaging more than 500,000 viewers per episode in Nielsen live+3 ratings and has seen audience growth over the course of its first season.

"By every measure, Brockmire has already become a brand-defining show for IFC, thanks to its critical acclaim, cultural relevance, and, above all, razor-sharp humor," said Jennifer Caserta, president of IFC. "We are so grateful for the stellar performances of Hank, Amanda and Tyrel, our partnership with Funny Or Die and how well the series has been received by critics and fans alike."

The digital pre-premiere of Brockmire generated nearly 3 million total views on digital platforms including VOD, IFC.com the IFC Facebook page and FunnyOrDie.com. In addition to being a hit with viewers, the show has drawn rave reviews from critics, who have called it one of the best new comedies on television and given high praise for the writing and performances. Brockmire has already been renewed for a second season, with eight new 30-minute episodes slated to air on IFC in 2018.

Interspersed throughout the Wednesday night Brockmire marathon will be sneak peeks of IFC's newest sketch comedy The Baroness Von Sketch Show, debuting this fall and featuring an all-female cast satirizing the absurdities of everyday life.

Brockmire follows Jim Brockmire, played by Azaria, a famed major league baseball announcer who suffered a notorious public breakdown after stumbling upon his wife's infidelity; a breakdown so bad in fact that "Brutal Brockmire" becomes a viral internet meme. The series picks up a decade later as Brockmire looks to reclaim his career, reputation, and love life.

Brockmire originally appeared as a viral short video on the award-winning comedy website Funny Or Die. Season 1 of Brockmire was written by Joel Church-Cooper (Undateable), directed by Tim Kirkby (Veep), and executive produced by Azaria, Church-Cooper, Kirkby and Funny Or Die's Mike Farah, Joe Farrell and Anna Wenger.

Last year, IFC's parent company AMC Networks purchased a minority ownership stake Funny Or Die after a series of successful collaborations with IFC. The partnership has paved the way for Funny Or Die and IFC - two strong, leading comedy brands - to further expand by creating smart, culturally relevant comedy across television, digital and social platforms. Brockmire is the first major collaboration between IFC and Funny Or Die since the deal was announced.

IFC is the home of offbeat, unexpected comedies. Original series Portlandia, Stan Against Evil, Documentary Now! and Brockmire air alongside fan-favorite movies and comedic cult TV shows. IFC is owned and operated by AMC Networks Inc., and available across multiple platforms. IFC is Always On, Slightly Off.
