ABC NEWS' 'NIGHTLINE' RANKS NO. 1 IN TOTAL VIEWERS AND ADULTS 25-54 FOR 2ND CONSECUTIVE WEEK

'Nightline' Outdelivers CBS' 'The Late Late Show with James Corden' and NBC's 'Late Night with Seth Meyers' in Total Viewers in 8 of the Last 9 Weeks.

Season to Date, 'Nightline' Leads CBS' 'The Late Late Show with James Corden' in All Key Target Demos

ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (868,000) and Adults 25-54 (135,000) for the 2nd-straight week during the week of March 13, 2023, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. In fact, "Nightline" took the top spot over CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" in Total Viewers in 8 of the last 9 weeks. Additionally, "Nightline" defeated the CBS program in Adults 18-49.

"Nightline" improved on the previous week in Total Viewers (+2% - 868,000 vs. 851,000) and Adults 25-54 (+1% - 224,000 vs. 221,000), hitting a 7-week high in the key Adult news demo ― since w/o 1/23/23.

"Nightline" turned in gains year to year across the board: Total Viewers (+11% - 868,000 vs. 782,000), Adults 25-54 (+29% - 224,000 vs. 173,000) and Adults 18-49 (+9% - 135,000 vs. 124,000).

Season to date, "Nightline" is growing compared to the same point last season in Total Viewers (+7% - 912,000 vs. 856,000). In addition, "Nightline" leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in all key target demos.

NOTE: On Thursday (3/16/23) and Friday (3/17/23), CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" was retitled to "Late Late Show-JC-ENC" due to CBS' coverage of the NCAA Basketball Tournament. On Friday, NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" was retitled to "Seth Meyers-SM" due to being a repeat. The retitled telecasts are excluded from the weekly and season averages. CBS' weekly averages are based on three days (Monday-Wednesday), while NBC's weekly averages are based on four days (Monday-Thursday).
