ABC NEWS' 'NIGHTLINE' RANKS NO. 1 IN TOTAL VIEWERS AND ADULTS 25-54

'Nightline' Outdelivers CBS' 'The Late Late Show with James Corden' and NBC's 'Late Night with Seth Meyers' in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 for 12th Week Straight

'Nightline' Hits 6-Week High in Adults 18-49

'Nightline' Posts Gains in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 Year-to-Year

ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (715,000)and Adults 25-54 (170,000) during the week of July 24, 2023, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" took the top spot, beating CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" in both demos for the 12th week in a row.

"Nightline" posted increases from the previous week in Adults 18-49 (+11% - 107,000 vs. 96,000), hitting a 6-week high ― since w/o 6/12/23.

"Nightline" improved on the same week last year Total Viewers (+1% - 715,000 vs. 710,000) and Adults 25-54 (+6% - 170,000 vs. 161,000).

Season to date, "Nightline" is growing compared to the same point last season in Total Viewers (+2% - 887,000 vs. 866,000). In addition, "Nightline" leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49.

This week "Nightline" covered Trump now facing two new obstruction charges; the U.S. Women's Soccer team setting its sights on its third straight World Cup title; reality TV star Demi Burnett's diagnosis of autism as an adult; Bronny James' cardiac arrest while on the court; mermaid enthusiasts diving into the "#mercore" trend; a teacher association's filing of a federal lawsuit against the Tennessee state education department's restrictions on curriculum regarding race and gender in public schools; the "Back to the Future" musical on Broadway; how the animal sedative "Tranq" is worsening the overdose crisis as it spreads across the country; Kelsea Ballerini opening up about her latest album and public divorce; and more.

NOTE: CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" was retitled to "The Late Late Show-JC-ENC" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" was retitled to "Seth Meyers-SM." The retitled telecasts are excluded from the season averages.
